I, too, agree that Pete would be "a little boy lost" without Trudy's guidance and support. Not only is she the dutiful and loving wife, but also the nurturing mother that Pete probably didn't have as a child.

I think Trudy, in a way, is taking care of Pete like she would if she had a child of her own. For example, when she calls from the bedroom..."Pete may speak to you please"...after Don and Roger come to see him. Then, at the same time, Pete may look to Trudy as wife and mother-figure....He tells Trudy she shouldn't leave him alone again after his disgusting fling with au pair. Pete definitely needs guidance and Trudy is just the person for that.

I posted this quite a while ago, but I still think that the au pair with leave a little souvenier in a pink or blue blanket-lined basket on Pete's doorstep about nine months after their "get together" (after her dress stain fiasco)....right before she takes off to board the first boat back to Germany.

And knowing Trudy, she will gladly take the little darling in ~~ whether Pete will level with her about why he/she was left on their particular doorstep is another matter......hmmmmm.......

I must confess, out of all the female characters in Mad Men, I feel Trudy is the truly spotless one. I mean, her quirks are at worst the idealistic views of young girl just trying to be 'good'.

Plus, I'm in love with Allison Brie.
