Mad Men Merchandise

I am just curious....do you all think that there would be any interest in Mad Men themed merchandise, Not just a logo stuck on a cup or shirt but martini sets, portable travel bar, retro aprons, old fashioned coffee cups and saucers featuring " the girls" etc?

Yes. If they look way you seem to be suggesting, ie, genuinely and stylishly early 1960s.

Another possibility is a Mad Men annual. It may be a British Commonwealth thing but when I was a kid in New Zealand in the 1960s and 1970s, popular television programmes would publish a hard covered A4 sized book of stories, cartoons, photos etc about the series. Usually done around Christmas time to maximise sales.

The kid in me would love a Mad Men annual to pore over.

Wow, what a great idea, Y, a Mad Men Annual....hope hope.

I feel it would sell well, Maddicts being the rabid sort we are and all.

Anyone in publishing listening???

We are desperate in the off-season, you know....

I've said it before and I'll say it again (thanks to "cut & paste"): @ Mr. Weiner and the “Powers That Be”: I believe it’s time for a Mad Men book. In 2007, HBO published a book titled, Sopranos: The Book: The Complete Collector's Edition. I (and no doubt many others) would love to see a similar compilation based on Mad Men. Sections/chapters would include detailed information on the cast as well as the characters they play, the fashions, the sets and locations used, photo tours of Sterling-Cooper, the Draper home, etc. The beautiful photography of the show deserves availability in “hard copy” format. Include a timeline of the era similar to that on the DVDs. Another section might take a closer look at popular products of the era and the actual ads used to promote them. You get the idea. Please give it some serious thought. Many thanks.

Yes! a book with lots of photos and the things "Grumpy" describes would be a treasure. Maybe after season 4 (which we know is a definite happening).

The more I think about it and what everyone has posted on this idea, I just think it would be the best thing ever.

Just think, we all could pore over it from November until July/Aug. every year and not feel so abandoned in our misery in the off-season.

Just an idea....but it would be so great if it became reality!

Like it was posted above, to "The Powers That Be".... throw us poor devoted Maddicts a bone already!

Pleeeeease?

And adwomen (original topic poster up there!) I would dearly love it if "retro aprons" (Mad Men themed) were to come about....I have a collection of "vintage" aprons and kitchen towels (also collect vintage hankies) and Mad Men ones would be the centerpieces of my collection! Come to think of it, Mad Men hankies would be a great item, too....really think a lucrative market is available for such goodies.

Why not throw in some real photos from a few 1960's Manhatten ad agencies? It would be enough to give us that forward and backward feel of "The Wheel". Cheers.

Now that's a good idea, Drink....

...and Cheers to you, too!

Nice to see you got your avatar back, SCfan. ;o) Sandra is much better than Mr. gray, faceless man. I'd like to see the pictures MW and his staff are looking at to re-create the Mad Men sets and costumes. He is too young to be going by his memory of the 60's.

What a wonderful idea....A Mad Men Coffee table book! Just like Rozsie said with lots and lots of pictures. With articles about each character and lots of behind the scene shots. I would definitely love to have something like that.

There were also books that went along with the shows Six Feet Under and Deadwood, two of my personal favorites (Deadwood and Mad Men are my two favorite shows EVER). I think the book idea is especially appropriate for shows taking place in a different period. I know the makers of the show go to great lengths in researching the details of the era, and this would be great stuff for a book.

THIS is the ultimate Godfather quiz?! Haha, how about some hard questions? :) The hardest question was the last one, since any news of Abe Vigoda's death would have sent me into a fetal-position state of horror by now ...Windows 7 Drivers

Parallels to musical counterpoint have been developed into a theory of montage, extended from the complex superimposition of images in early silent film[citation needed] to even more complex incorporation of musical counterpoint together with visual counterpoint through mise en scene and editing, as in a ballet or opera; e.g., as illustrated in the gang fight scene of director Francis Ford Coppola’s film, Rumble Fish. internet fax program

I like a lot of the shirts that they sell. They have a great design with the show name on it. I have already bought one and just love it. All the merchandise is so good with good prices. Engagement Rings
