Hi fellow Maddicts!
I am sorry I dropped out of sight for a while. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.
Christmas was tough for me, my beloved Aunt passed away Dec. 26th. I've been hibernating since then.
I did watch the Globes and the SAGs, it was great to see the Mad Men gang!!
Anyway, I'm glad to be back...now I have to read the posts to catch up.
Hope to talk to everyone soon!

Hi 60's child- I am sorry for you loss, but am glad to see you back here! Please stick around.
Take care!
Hey 60's child. My condolences on your Aunt. It's tough when they pass away during the holidays. Glad to see you are following the boys sporting their new beards and taking home the trophies. "Take that HBO" Cheers.
Hi 60's, and welcome back....so sorry to hear of your loss, and it is harder when it's during a festive time, it's just hard no matter what, of course....but, as Drink and jeffe say, we're happy you're back on the forum just the same.
Right on, Drink....("Take that HBO") ha ha
And that was a very short-lived beard for JH, no?
P.S. Fred Armisen (Mr. Peggy) is hilarious, but, God, does he ever have bad legs.....I must say he gave Mrs. a'Whiggins (Carol Burnett) a run for the money!! I hope he doesn't ever lose his crackers again.....
Hello, 60's Child. So sorry to hear of your loss. Hope you are feeling better.
I, too, have been away from our favorite Forum for quite awhile. Feels good to check back in on the doings of our favorite guys and dolls. I must say, I did not like any of the beards, especially John Slattery's....Roger is just not a beard man, to me. Did enjoy seeing everyone at the award shows, though I still am firmly convinced Jon Hamm was robbed.
Hi 60'schild,
You know how much I can relate to your loss. I know it's very sad and lonely without her. As you know your friends here all support you and your life and hope you get some entertainment with us wild and woolly Maddicts. Hope you can get to see some skits from SNL with Jon. It will lighten up your life for a while. I love you and take care.
Hidey Nora....and a BIG OL' MADDICT HIDEY TO Z!
I was soooooo worried about ya, girl! Glad you're back....I checked in on the Yahoo site to see if you'd been there because I was worried, looked like you are like me (not enough time to post on both forums)...but I do like their forum and read it now and then. I can't seem to get over the sentimental hold this "original" Mad Men form has on me.
Well, welcome back and glad to be getting some more of that good ol' Zerelda insight!
Hi, SCfan! Good to talk to you again, my dear! No, I haven't been on the Yahoo site....don't think I will be posting over there any more. Just can't seem to get into it....it isn't home to me, I guess, even though I enjoy reading and respect the views of so many MM fans who use that site. I have neglected this Forum, too, but I always knew I would come back.
I decided to take a break for after the season finale. It was so deeply satisfying and such a wonderful last episode to watch that I got a little depressed thinking about how long we will have to wait until the next season. I decided to forget about all things Mad Men for awhile. Reading about the award shows and seeing the actors getting their just recognition for a marvelous show just got me all fired up again, though, so here I am.
Of course, seeing Jon Hamm on SNL was a hoot and a half.....I wish they would have John Slattery on sometime....I bet he would be equally marvelous, given the right material....but, that could be said about all the wonderful actors on Mad Men, I think.....except JJ....apparently they just didn't know what to do with her, and she was maybe too timid or inexperienced to tell them their material was rotten. Just my own opinion, of course.
Hi everyone!
I am so touched by your kind words! I feel like you are some of my best friends, and yet we have never met!
Thanks so much for making me feel better, and reminding me of Jon Hamm in his "short shorts" on SNL!!
I'm not into the bearded look on any of the guys, well, except Paul, (Michael Gladis) because that is his look.
Happy Groundhog Day!
I just heard...six more weeks of Winter. Arrgh!!
Happy Groundhog Day!
Yeah, 60's child-just saw that we will have six more weeks of winter. It has been snowing here, which we don't get very often. Love the snow, but am starting to get tired of it and now they are saying we are getting more!!! Oh well...hope everyone out there is safe and warm!
Take care!
How nice to see so many faithful Maddicts again!
60s child - I'm sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in your memories of your Aunt.
Zerelda - I thought of you while watching Masterpiece Theatre a couple of weeks ago. Can't think of the name of it, but it starred your favorite Dame Judi Dench.
Norah, I hope things are going well for you. I think of you often.
Smoke&Drink - your posts always make me smile, thank you.
Jon Hamm - well you've all said it so well - he was great! Loved the sexy Sergio with his sax! I like him better beardless.
You all stay safe wherever you are - and try to keep warm!
Hi! to all current and former posting Maddicts. Now that we have all gotten over the holidays, lets all get back to talking about the one (maybe more) thing we all have in common,MadMen.
Yes, 60'schild I also offer my condolences for your loss. I hope you and your family feel better.
When does Season Four begin or was Three the end?
Greetings from a MM addict in Bali! I was lent this show some time ago by my neighbour and i have to say i was absolutely hooked! I watched series 1 & 2 in one go, I couldn't stop watching!
But my main reason for this, and let me say that I have never done this before!!....is that I thought the acting was absolutely brilliant, a brilliant cast, brilliant everything.
I don't know if anybody else agrees with me but i thought all the female roles were out of this world i was hooked on the way these ladies really looked as though they were really in the 60's mode!..But i cannot find one single bad thing about the show and i love the great music choices towards the end of a particular episode, just so nice to see it used so gracefully and with feeling.
I don't think i can wait too long for series 4 and I might have to start watching the whole series again for the 4th time!
So my thanks to a great cast and a great technical team you deserve an award for every time i watch an episode!!!!...Thankyou.
Hello My Fellow Maddicts,
Glad ro see you're all still around Sir Drink & Smoke, Lady Zerelda, Lady SCfan, Lady Nora, Lady Rozsie and 60's child. Wow it's so wonderful to see you're all well. My deepset sympathy to you 60's child. Let's get the Madness started again! (smile)
Hi pinkpen!
Just got home and found this very up message from you! Love it!
How are you doing 60's child? I think you can see SNL on HULU for last Sat and JH. Hope you saw it. I can't stop thinking about it....Sergio!
Hi pink and all....yes pink, those you mentioned are among The Trudgers (those Maddicts who slog along the edge of the trenches during the off season, poor souls!) I guess we are just too stubborn to leave! ha
All Maddicts are welcome to join up....slog slog slog.....schlepp.....trudge....
hee
Well, it looks like the gangs all here. Pinkpen, Rozie and Nora - it's always a pleasure to read your posts, thank you. The only ones missing are Dry Manhatten and Greytone. Nakula, it appears from your post that you're a fairly new Maddict - welcome. As to ladylou - no one answered your question.....Mad Men will have a Season 4 and it premieres around mid-July to early August. Matt Weiner likes to keep the date a secret until the very end. Cheers.
Hidey, there, Drink....I, too, wonder where Dry and Grey are...although I know Grey has posted recently, I enjoy her posts and wish they were more frequent.
Dry, where you be??????
Hello All. We have a new Maddict called GalPal who just posted on the Episode 13 Open thread. You might want to stop back by there and welcome her aboard and help her find some of the more active threads. Cheers.
Hi rozsie,
Thank you for thinking of me! You're very kind. I have been checking the site everyday now. My computer has been acting up a bit at home. It works great at the apple store when I take it in. Ha! But, fails to turn on at home sometimes. Hope this posts!
Drink and Smoke! Thanks for the shout out as a fellow maddict!
SCfan,
I stopped writing on the site around the time Dry stopped writing. The site was experiencing a lot of problems and she left. I think it's ok now and wish she'd come back too. She really loved writing and keeping us informed.
grumpyoldguy,
I'll look out for GalPal.
Well, for all of you to know. I spent my Valentines Day with my boyfriend............JON HAMM!......... ha,ha,ha,ha,ha
Hope you all had a nice day and today President's Day. Gosh it's going to be 80 degrees here in LA!
You snowbirds pack your bags and come here!
Yep, Nora, now I'm worried about Dry and 57Chevy BOTH~!! 57 came back a few months ago all better and a'mending, and then left again just as quickly....folks are free to come and go as they please, of course, but, it worries us geezettes (speaking only for myself there, hee) when beloved fellow Maddicts just vanish, right?
Well, at least Zerelda and pinkpen are back with all us die-hards!
ha ha
You too, Grumpy (Gary C)! Enjoy your urbane musings very much.
Hello!
I'm a newbie from England; we don't have any MM forums or fansites here and the show is tucked away in the BBC schedules. We are also behind in viewing terms as S3 has only just finished and we have to wait until 2011 January for S4!! I am having serious withdrawal symptoms. Well I hope to get to know you all and I'll have to stop looking on here when you start watching S4.
Hey Shima,
Welcome! Glad you found this site. There are a lot of us who love this show and are going through withdrawals as well. Season 4 begins in July and it just can't seem to get here soon enough.
I am sure your head is still in a tail spin right now after viewing Season 3. We would love to hear what your thoughts are about each episode, character, scene, etc.
Once again, welcome and glad you are here.
Take care.
Thanks for the welcome, jeffe64! Indeed Season 3 was perhaps the finest so far; that finale was PERFECT right down to Roy Orbison's plaintive singing.

Thanks for the recap of the music, Greg....I still don't get why they never included "Band of Gold" by Don Cherry (the very first vocal heard on Mad Men ever, I believe)....beautiful old classic, IMO.

Saw-franchise veterans Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton's mean-spirited torture show is a throwback to the nastiest home-invasion movies of the 1970s and '80s. The plot is so stripped down it's barely there -- good-hearted thief breaks into house, discovers family being tortured by masked madman, tries to save little girl while dodging fiendish booby traps.teeth whitening
