MAD MEN COOKBOOK

Wouldn't a retro Mad Men cookbook be super cool for MM fans?! Betty Draper's Meatloaf, Peggy's Perfect Punch, or a Sterling Martini, anyone? Maybe a Joan Julip and...forgive the obvious bad joke but yes...it could also have a recipe for a Jon Hamm Sandwich!.

I don't know about other Maddicts but I would totally buy it!

Season 4 Anticipation-Season 3 Ep 13 continuation

Just back after many months....SC Fan and I thought it would be a good idea to start anew as we all can't wait for new season and the ep 13 open thread is mighty long. It's been way too long and hope to hear from all you regular maddicts on everything Mad as we all wait!

New gay character?

This may be a crazy question...has anyone read anything about one of the main males on MM "coming out" next Season?
I was talking with my Mom who told me she read this somewhere. She doesn't follow the show, and she does read tabloid mags, so I'm not so sure about her info.
I'm still hoping Sal will be back!!!

Mad Men and Old Spice

Did anyone else think of the Gillette conversation that Don has with Paul while watching the newest Old Spice commercial? It's like we could see it happening:

"Brass tacks, who buys this. Wives and girlfriends. What do they want?"

"Hot men on boats and horses with tickets and diamonds?"

"Yes. Film it."

In what episode does Pete Cambell tell Cooper about Don Draper's past?

Hi there... I'm really confused! When I started watching the second season I felt like I was missing something an then I saw a "previously on Mad Men" where Pete and Don are standing in Cooper's office, talking about Don's real name... Also, I had no pre-warning about Peggy being pregnant.. Is this all in the last episode of season 1, because I really thought I'd watched all of that?

On Demand Episodes

I just recently got interested in Mad Men. I'vestarted watching Season One by borrowing the DVDs from the library, but it's popular and it takes a while to get each disc. I notice AMC has Mad Men "On Demand", but they only have four episodes available. Why don't they have the whole season one available so those of us wanting to catch up can go from one week to the next. Anyone know any other way to watch the episodes for free?

Another critical mistake from the writers of MM found

Re-viewing the episode where Sterling invites Joan to see "The Apartment," she complains of how the men in the office treat the main female character so badly. She claims they "Pass her around that office like a. . . " (I don't remember the metaphor).

Clearly, the writers screwed up here. Shirley McClaine's character was NOT tossed from one executive to the other, but was the sole mistress of Fred MacMurray's character.

Bad, sloppy, mistake, bespeaking the writers desire to make their own point rather than have care to be accurate. And where was the genius, Weiner, on that one?

Music at end of last episode, Season 3

PLEASE -- can someone tell me the title or artist of the music played in the very last scenes of Season 3? When Don is getting out of the taxi in front of a building which appears to be his new apartment, I would really like the name of the song being played at that time. Does anyone know what it is?

DISAPPOINTED BRIT

Hello, U K here. We're only as far as Episode 3 and I'm already disappointed. The situations are fragmented and don't seem to be leading anywhere. So far there's no bite to this series, no intrigue, nothing to grab your interest in the characters. It's nothing like Series 2. Hope Mr Weiner can move up a gear in later episodes.

Don's Overcoat

Does anybody know the brand/make of the overcoat Don wears throughout the season 3 finale? Any identifying information at all would be appreciated.

Peggy's pregnancy--How can it be?

I just finished the episode where Peggy gives birth-I don't understand--in either the first or second episode you see her going to a gynochologist and asking for the birth control pill----one is under the assumption that she is taking the pill. Even if this is NOT the case-how can the audience be expected to believe that such an intelligent woman would not notice that she had not had a period for 9 months-----

what's up AMC??? what happened to my avatar?

anyone else have their avatar disappear? after repeated tries i still cannot upload a new one - what gives?

I love looking at the smoldering Hamm, the new series is just so engaging,I am a nurse and I want a mug to take to work to be the envy of all!!!

I want a mug PLEASE !!!!!!!!

Need Artwork

We're doing a boat float with Mad Men as our theme and are looking for artwork that we could reproduce easily (no fine detail, will be seen from 50' away). The DVD covers for Seasons 1 and 2 are do-able (not #3) but are looking for something like the guy diving out of the building as seen on TV.

Hi fellow Maddicts!

I am sorry I dropped out of sight for a while. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.
Christmas was tough for me, my beloved Aunt passed away Dec. 26th. I've been hibernating since then.
I did watch the Globes and the SAGs, it was great to see the Mad Men gang!!
Anyway, I'm glad to be back...now I have to read the posts to catch up.
Hope to talk to everyone soon!
