So we're negotiating.
Will the sheer volume of effort, work, and dedication required to make the new Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce agency a success be able to fill the emptiness inside Don Draper and finally make him whole?
Re-watching the finale for the upteenth time I realized that I had never seen Don act like a man with a real purpose so much as in this episode. I loved the scene in which he asks Lane to fire them and then goes on to say, "So we're negotiating." The look on his face says it all. He is not just going to be a follower, an employee; this is going be something of his own if they can pull it off. His marriage to Betty is over. MW has said as much in numerous interviews, but if he can finally fill the void that makes him so numb, maybe the next one can be successful.

I thought the same thing. He kept saying that HE was starting a new agency.
Don was an awful husband. He should concentrate on his relationship with his kids.
I think he finally see that now, jane, too late for his marriage but hopefully not too late for the kids.
Hi everyone, very interesting points. I am hoping Don turned a corner realizing his marriage is over. The important ones now are the kids. Remember, Henry told Betty he would take care of them, she didn't need any thing from him. Don't think that is going to sit well with Don-despite his faults, he does love his children. Sounds like Henry want to take over everything in Betty's life. Can't see them living in the house she shared with Don. I can't see the kids taking to Henry. Betty will be walking a tightrope between Don and Henry-if things work out with Henry-don't think they are going to. Betty is high maintenance.
