1964 civil rights act

Do you think the story line could be affected by this? It could bring Sal back.

Simple answer: No. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 dealt with voter discrimination, discrimination in public accommodations, discrimination in relation to public facilities, encouraged desegregation of public schools, expanded the Civil Rights Commission and prevented discrimination by government agencies receiving federal funding. Do your homework. In the world of 2010, in 34 states, an employer can still get away with firing an employee for reasons of sexual orientation. We're dealing with the 1960s here. Do your homework. I believe most viewers would love to have Sal back on the show. But it's not going to happen based on how we would like things to have been in the past. If Sal returns, it will likely be because he can be an asset and it is best for the new company financially. He will still be expected to keep his sexual proclivities pretty much a "secret," even if all around him know he is a homosexual.

VIEW FROM THE PLANTATION MAILROOM

I can provide story material on race in the agencies.

I was a 19 year old Negro girl working in the mailroom at Campbell-Ewald, Detroit in 1968.

I was a university student and wanted to go into advertising. Needless to say, after that summer I didn't.
