VELVEETA! The Cheese Box in Ep 13
I laughed at them packing some their stuff in a cardboard box with VELVEETA prominently printed on it. (product placement at its best) They were the mice stealing the cheese right out of the trap. A huge trap had been set for Don Draper and he found a way to steal the cheese and leave the trap empty.
Symbolic, as was Roger telling Don not to bother to lock the door. There wasn't anything left worth guarding.

Hi Myriad!
Great thought! I think Betty had Velveeta in a scene in her kitchen in one episode. I wonder if they were a client at SC?
P.S. Welcome to the site!

Myriad has posted before. Good call both of you about Velveeta for product placement. Mom used it to make overcooked cauliflower and broccoli acceptable to me and my sisters.
I looked at he list of clients split between Pete and Ken. Neither Kraft nor Velveeta were on the list.
As most of us realize, the symbolism of Velveeta has been extant for quite a while. It's one of the primary causes of Betty's chronic constipation. The "processed cheese food" product "binds her up," thereby leading to her constant scowling, short temper and overall sour disposition.
"Who wants to cut the cheese?"
Never really thought an empty packing box of Velveeta was all that monumental or meaningful. It was just a hot product of its day.
@SonofLois I thought you were being snarky with that "Who wants to cut the cheese?" line, then I remembered the scene in Joan's apartment! Good catch.
No the Velveeta box isn't monumental, @Trudy Campbell. It's just one of the little quirky things tucked into every episode if you look for them and interpret them in your own little way. I saw a pack of slick little mice escaping into the night with Sterling Cooper's cheese just when those Brits smiling like Cheshire cats thought the trap had caught the mice in the trap.

First thing I thought of:
When Al Jolson had a radio show called, "Kraft Music Hall," he sang, "She's a Latin From Manhattan," and ended the song by shouting, "Velveeta!" to huge laughter and applause. The recording is well known by Jolson fans and is on many a Jolson CD. Great rendition, highly recommended even for Jolson novices. ESPECIALLY for Jolson novices!
Velveeta!
