This episode was filled with gut-wrenching drama!
This was one of the most tense episodes of the entire series. Everyone was so emotional. Betty is distraught. Pete is having a nervous breakdown. Don is losing more and more power at Sterling Cooper. Carla is deeply sad. Roger's daughter almost lost it before her wedding and on and on. This was an epsiode of gut-wrenching drama.

Brashboy, first time we see Carla smoking a cigarette also. I loved the Skeeter Davis song ."End of the World"
I don't know, it nearly put me to sleep! I have seen enough of the Kennedy assassination to last me 10 lifetimes! I have also seen enough of the Draper's to last me as long.
I loved it when Carla lit up. I was waiting for her to pour herself a drink.
I agree about the abundance of gut wrenching drama. In spite of Don's cheating and dishonesty throughout his marriage, I felt sorriest for him. One more person rejecting him. It was very sad when Betty told him she didn't love him anymore and I think it deeply affected him to the point of possible suicide attempt. She has really been his only stability in adulthood. I appreciated all the film footage but also thought it occupied a little too much of the episode. I empathize with Betty and can relate to the void of feeling after being cheated on and lied to "one too many times". Oh damn, now I have to go to bed depressed. Please can we have a little happiness in the finale?

I predict:
In the final episode of the season, Henry will realize and tell Betty that he can't marry her, breaking her fantasy and the season ends much as each of the previous years - very quietly.
More and more Don is regretting he signed the contract. If Betty leaves him, expect him to sell the house and take the kids to CA where he can promote NASCAR. "Mommy? What Mommy? The one who decided to leave us?"
