In Episode 2, Love Among the Ruins, Don had the Madison Square Garden account all locked up, only to be told that PPL did not want to take them on as clients. He protested that the account would bring in a lot of money in the coming years due to the New York World's Fair alone. Maybe SCDP can go after that account again.

Those of us who follow and cherish "Populuxe" and "Googie" stylings, in all its forms: popular art, architecture, advertising, etc.--- know that this style reached its delightfully cheezy zenith during the 64-65 World's Fair....

I ,too, z, think PPL missed the boat not signing Madison Square Garden up.....hard to believe they were so short sighted on that. Dumb dumb dumb....

That would be a great "get" for Sterling Cooper Draper and Pryce in S4, z....let's hope, anyway.

PPL already had plans to sell SC. They didn't need a profit-draining account like MSG in their portfolio. The NY World's Fair, etc. would be coming later, not during the sales window.

SCDP could indeed go after the MSG account but I think their timing would be too late. Besides, they don't have the financial reserves to properly service MSG at this time to gain all the other contracts.
