Reopen Investigation of Natalie Wood's death
Natalie Wood was a Hollywood icon, beloved by millions for her performances in such classic films as Miracle on 34th Street, West Side Story and Rebel Without a Cause.
Her bizarre death near the yacht Splendour on a chilly November evening in 1981 off Catalina Island has remained shrouded in mystery.
Recent revelations, including admissions by Ms. Wood's husband, have shown that the initial investigation was seriously flawed and evidence ignored.

I'm out of topic, but if you like Natalie Wood, you certainly would like to know the truth about her mysterious death.
There is a petition:

"The Reopen Investigation of Natalie Wood's death petition to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department was written by JamesV "
Right next to RJ's boat was a grassy knoll . . . .
I just watched her again in West Side Story and it almost made me cry thinking of her sad and ugly death. She was so pretty.
Hey, she's my (relatively) new avatar!
I have always thought she was underrated, even though, admittedly there are far better actresses.
She could smolder like no other! And those eyes!
Gone far too soon....so sad.
Sic the Cold Case team on this one. Then feature the the findings/how they solved it on the TV show. Is it still on? I know I watch it at 4am, but then I have a weird sleep disorder.
Natalie Wood in "This Property is Condemned"... WOW, what a performance. I think that was Robert Redford's first movie too.
"Hey, she's my (relatively) new avatar!"
Pretty photo. I like it.
I saw again "Rebel Without a Cause". Well, that was just a movie of the 50's.
I have recently seen "Splendor in the Grass". It was a revelation !
I fell in love. And know I'm so sad.
Then I have seen "Property Is Condemned". Natalie was great, beautiful.
After that, I have seen "Brainstorm". In that movie Natalie is no more Natalie. What happened to her ?
I wonder where is she now. Is she alive, somewhere ?
Sadness...
You're not off topic. Only 2 degrees of separation.
Roger's daughter, Margaret was told by Henry's daughter that she looked like Natalie Wood.
Also, the actress that played Henry's daughter (I couldn't find her name) did a film playing the part of Natalie Wood.
BTW - did anyone else notice how fast Margaret pulled that check from Henry's hand?
Oops, my mistake. It was the actress that played Margaret Sterling (Elizabeth Rice) that played the part of Natalie Wood. I should do a better job proofing.
Natalie Wood had THE best body in all of Hollywood, bar none.
"Splendor" is a classic -- Deenie and that guy should have eloped and run away; give 'em hell!
Yes, all the NW movies everyone has mentioned are wonderful, and I love them, too.
One that isn't shown much but is GREAT (although soapy to the extreme) is "All The Fine Young Cannibals" with Robert Wagner when they were a new "item" in Hollywood....not sure if they were married yet (in "real life") in that one or not...but it is wonderful....kind of like "Splendor in the Grass" but even better in some ways.
And don't forget "Love With the Proper Stranger" and "Sex and the Single Girl." Also I loved the ending to "Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice"...won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it!
It was a toast to the "squares" of the "sexual revolution".

I have forgotten to mention this movie. Natalie was great.

Yes. I'am looking for those.
There is no shortage of mysterious, unsolved Hollywood crimes. Combine $$ with sex, power, control, stardom that can vanish quickly, a highly unusual industry, the mafia, the ability to influence public opinion....can't imagine any mystery in all that.
Anyone remember "Inside Daisy Clover" and "Marjorie Morningstar"?
Also, "The Last Married Couple In America" (she co-stars with George Segal) is a good one, too.
She made so many!
Anyone remember "Inside Daisy Clover"
I didn't really like the movie. I didn't like to see Natalie in this masculine character. But her acting is interesting.
In "Bombers B-52", she has a short role. She is a pretty young woman. She is beautiful in her red dress and her black high heels.
I would like to watch all her movies. Some are on DVD.
can't imagine any mystery in all that.
I don't know.

I don't care if is is 6 degrees off topic...I have always loved Natalie Wood!
"Splendor in the Grass" is my all time favorite movie. And "This Property is Condemed" ranks up there. When I was in New Orleans I even went to the fountain in Jackson Square where Owen and Alva meet again. That movie broke my heart. She and Steve McQueen (another favorite) made "Love with the Proper Stranger" and there is a scene where they are both in a cab and she is resting her head on his shoulder. It is dark and rainy and the cab speeds through NYC. With both of them gone now that particular scene is hard for me to watch.
If any one is interested in an excellent BIO. I read "NATASHA" by Suzanne Finstad. Lots of details!
French Fan: Thanks for bringing up Natalie. Regarding her death (and I remember where I was when I heard she died) JR and Chris Walken know
EXACTLY what happened and I think the truth will die with both of them.
NW was very intoxicated that evening. She went to bed but was annoyed by the dingy slapping against the hull of the Splendor. Puting on a down-filled parka over her nightdress, she went topside to tie it up and slipped into the water.
She did not know how to swim and the down jacket soaked up so much water that she could not get herself out or hang onto the dingy very long. No mystery, it's all in Coroner to the Stars.

Youre welcome.
Thanks to Natalie. She gave me (us) a lot of happiness. I feel sad about a death; her unnatural and her too early death.
Her death is a stupid death or a mysterious death. I would like to be sure.

Maybe they will tell the truth at the end of their life.
PS: It seems the link to the petition does'nt work anymore. Here is another one:

I kinda want to believe (right or wrong) that flowerpower's account is probably accurate (from Coroner to the Stars)
There were rumors from way back about RJ's bisexuality....who knows? Even if CW was on the Splendor for other reasons that just a social visit, I guess that's their business....
I guess that "tying up the dinghy and getting sunk by the heavy coat" makes as much sense as any other explanation.
Just a sad sad deal all around....such a loss.
alleged bisexuality I guess I should have said....
Another allegation : Kirk Douglas raped Natalie when she was sixteen.
I have read it in the first pages of this forum:

She seems alive !
Personally this woman is very similar like Phoenix Marie, they both have the same characters of their faces. Well, but it is only a my opinion so many people can argue with me. Anyway Natalie was really a wonderful and beautiful woman and I really respect her. Reading this entry I have even known some new facts about her. Thanks a lot for sharing this interesting information. Regards.
I'm with most of you. History has always been a little suspicious. Semms as if he had asked someone to tie the dingy. Of course, maybe she was trying to take off.she was certainly a woman that could bring about jealousy . I think it is worthy of investigation . Something fishy here scraps para orkut Do not want to falsely accuse anyone, but something must have a more formal investigation. Hollywood is known for letting people get away with it, well, murder.
