DVD Commentaries

I was lucky enough to win the box set of Mad Men Season 2 for my favorite Joan quote. "Your decolletage is distracting."
It's a beautiful box set BTW.I was just wondering if anyone else had it and listened to the audio commentaries in the special features section, and if not you should . I found them very interesting on many levels. They were very insightful about not only the characters but also the actors and behind the scenes people. It was a trip to hear who was the most interesting as a commentator and who was a little boring. I recommend watching all of the ones Weiner of course.

I have Season 1 and Season 2 box sets, and they actually both have great audio commentaries. If I had to choose, though, I'd say the commentaries on Season 1 are actually a bit better, if only because the actors were doing them for the first time & seemed to have a little more to say about the making of the show than they did on the Season 2 set. (I thought Tim Hunter's commentaries on Season 1 were particularly insightful about the production process.) I guess it all depends on which details you're interested in. My hat's off to Weiner, who never seems repetitive despite the fact that he does a commentary on almost every episode in Season 2. I also think whomever had a say in putting the extras together should be commended for including so many crew members, because they're the ones who are often left out on commentaries.

I enjoyed the commentaries as well. My box set included a "Mad Men" tie clip too...very cool.

Perhaps some of your subsequent quotes cancelled out the first....

OK put away the claws.( although that was well deserved)
The best surprise to me was Glen! I had no idea he was Weiner's kid.
Also, loved hearing Jon being Jon, and being able to see him outside of his character. That sounds crazy I know.
One of my favorites was Elizabeth Moss and Colin Hanks commentary. They cracked me up when ever it wasn't a scene they were in."Who are these people?" They were kidding of course.

Jan Jones' commentary was as bland as that cream cheese she spread on the celery back in Season One. She kept deferring to Hamm, like maybe she had stayed in her trailer for everything except her own scenes?
