Betty's a Piece of Trash!!! IAnd Don finally Looks Happy
The spirit of the sixties is budding in an upset rogue agency. I love it. Out with the old and in with the new. Betty deserves what she gets an old stuffy boring man. Good Riddance to that dry boring self absorbed brat. Yay Don Yay SC and for once YAy pete and Trudy. Even Coop seems to have gotten his second wind and wow was that teh old ROger spilling the beans on the home wrecking Francis. I hope that bastard gets his.

Have you forgotten all of the other women Don has had that Betty has known about and what that has done to her? I found myself rooting for both at the end of the episode and crying for their children. Unfortunately, it was a very realistic portrayal of the end of something - sad and the beginning of a new part of a person's life - exciting.
Since Mad Men has been on the air, the legend has been that Sterling Cooper was patterned loosely on BBD&O. It's now evident that the model was Pemberton, McManus & Scott. The agency was not, however, founded in the Pierre. Its actual quarters were in the Gotham.
I think Betty is going to be in for a shock, because if I'm correct politicians of the sixties didn't risk their careers for the scandal of a ready nade family.
Also I never beleived Betty to be a very loving mother and lets not forget she had sex with a complete stranger in bar bathroom like some two dollar whore.
Die Betty die. No where's Rachel?
Loves MM. I am sorry for taking it all out on Betty. I am more upset about teh jolly Henry Francis holding her hand at teh lawyers office. What an interloper and homewrecker. He'll get his regardless of the Drapers marital problems he had no business. xoxoxox
Loves Mad Men- Fair enough- Don had it coming but I think I am most mad at the way Francis is shwooping in , sitting with her at the lawyers office. he's a disgusting home wrecker regardless of what is between Betty and Don. And Betty with an infant in her arms . What kind of lowlife is Betty? I'm not saying that she doesn't have a right but this Francis character is not to be trusted.
Betty will get what Betty deserves - think frying pan into the fire. Just as Don does.
"Mommy, Mommy! Daddy introduced Bobby and me to the woman he started dating after you came back from Reno. You won't believe it! Miss Farrell! Daddy and me and Bobby and Miss Farrell went to the park and we had a picnic and she brought fried chicken and carrot cake! She's wonderful! I love her!" An icy knife slices through Betty's heart.
How about the fact that she's off for 6 weeks to Reno WITHOUT Sally and Bobby? What a great Mom she leaves them with the maid! IMHO, they're probably better off with her than either of their parents.
Don doesn't really love Betty or he'd fight for her. Instead he agrees not to interfere and is looking happy because of the new excitement over the SC revolt. Now he can live in the hotel, which is probably where he should have stayed the last ten years...always a guest but never really a resident....the hobo life is for Don.
Cooper is a scary and manipulative old bastard when he wants to be! I'd like to see him really get into the mix with the new comany instead of just sitting around reading the newspaper.
I wonder how long before Henry gets tired of Betty (or vice versa)? I give them six months. What man wants to marry a woman with 3 kids, one a demanding infant and one an outspoken 9-year old? I guess they could hire a full-time nanny and do their own thing.
Betty's doing what she thinks must be done as quickly as possible - the old, "Do you take off a bandage quickly or slowly?"
Regrettable that it had to happen over Christmas but, I don't know if you're aware of it, Alexander Graham Bell had a wonderful invention - the telephone. She can talk to them every day and vice versa, probably after they come home from school. Not as good as being there but it ensures Mommy's keeping in touch and they're not forgotten. Probably more than Daddy will do on a daily basis.
Don's not fighting for her because he figures that dog won't hunt. By his estimation, he'd been faithful to her from the time he returned from California a year earlier until they returned from Italy and she rejected his advances in their bedroom. (He doesn't count the stew - she was a one night stand.) He might not have been happy with their home life but was willing to stick it out, give it time to heal and rethink priorities. She wasn't. Time to move on.
I just had a thought. Henry hasn't met Sally or Bobby at this point, only baby Gene. What he committed himself to helping support isn't real to him. It'll be a lot more real after six weeks. How they're going to work the Albany-Ossining home and school situation should be interesting.
Henry's got it coming! His political carrer is O-V-E-R! Don will get him.
Of course he looks happy--he finally got rid of the whacko, and has found his REAL family.
