pantyhose

I did a ton of research on the 60s in college in 77-78, and skirts went way up in 66 but pantyhose did not become mass marketed until the following year. Please re-check your research. Thank you.

I hear you but from what I have read panty hose were invented in 1959. So it is believable that Peggy would be wearing them in 1962-1963. Being a young woman she might want to try them out. Just a thought.

Mass-marketing is one thing. Being on the market is another. It took years to bring manufacturing speed into the process. Had skirts remained around knee-length, it might have taken even more time.

A ton? Really? And you still didn't realize that pantyhose was available by then.

this subject keeps coming up

peggy probably got products that were still being tested so she would have pantyhose a few years before they were actually on the market

WOW! Pantyhose has been discussed so much!

Last year when Peggy was shown putting pantyhose on, it became a hot topic.

Hi CadMen! You are right. Peggy was probably asked to test new products for SC. And, this was NYC, all of the newest products would be there first.

I gre up in the Albany, NY area, and had my first pair in 1966.

The question was submitted by a person who has never posted before. Come on guys, you're smarter than that.

Anyone who has hung around at all knows that "pantyhose" is like an alarm bell. Someone is just stirring up stuff again - like Bertha/Monty/Montilla/JeanM.

It looks like fanofmad was the only one who got it.

Personally I prefer primary source material to 30+ year old recollections of "research"

I think that counts as "mass marketing"
