"Pulling a Sadler"

I would like to add "Pulling a Sadler" to the lexicon:

Definition: doing the absolute most inappropriate at exactly the wrong time. See Comments Below

1. Showing up in black face for racial sensitivity training at work.

2. Wearing a "Hooters" t-shirt to a sexual harrassment seminar.

3. Have a "Dr. Greg Harris Fan Club" button at a Take Back the Night rally.

4. Asking the bartender at a dyke biker bar, "hey sweet cheeks, make me a Shirley Temple."

5. Playing Barry Manilow from your boom box at a skin head rally.

6. Drive your Dodge minivan with your entire family from Utah through South Central LA asking for directions to Disneyland.

7. Asking the host of your son's best friend's Bar Mitzvah, "are you serving honey baked ham?"

8. Have half a heat on then call your student's home in the hope that her father answers.

9. Show up at your future in-laws with a Relaxicisor.

10. And last, but not least - when the new Chief Operating Officer shows up to inspect the troops, amputate his foot with a lawn mower.

11. Ask your best friend's philandering husband (right in front of her) if you can join him in the shower.

Does anyone know who sang the final song in this episode?

@warbren

Whole thread about it here:

It was Bob Dylan.

user-pic

Really? I thought it was a Bob Dylan impersonator.

Whoops! Talk about pulling a "Sadler". I shoulda posted this comment in the topic zabadu provided above.

Hi Polar Bear!
I couldn't add anything to your list...it's perfect!

I do have a lexicon question for all Maddicts.
I heard Don use the phrase: you "as well" when speaking with one of the Brits. He could have said you "too" or you "also".
I don't remember the phrase "as well" being used until recently.
Any Maddicts out there know?

@60's Child: "As well" is the British way of saying too or also. Don probably picked up that knowledge somewhere along the way -- watching British movies, or something. Just like he picks up knowledge everywhere and anywhere.

@60s child- It's actually proper English. "Me too" is highly informal. The 60s were all about "formal".

Yes, "as well" was used. My mother always corrected me.
