Well, since a lot of posters are looking for similarities between The Drapers and The Kennedys, Jack Kennedy asked Jackie to accompany him on his fateful trip to Dallas in November -- something he didn't usually ask of her.

During the sneak peak for "Souvenir" Pete says Don is in "Dallas or Denver...Hilton is sending him to all his armpits". If its Dallas, expect more Kennedy foreshadowing. Either way, I can see a disappointed Betty, either with their accommodations or with Don or both.

What might the souvenir be?

.....I thought he was taking her to Italy. Maybe that comes later.

Loved the shot of Don barefoot and in his undershirt scrunched up on the love seat...you would think Betty would let him lounge on her fainting couch...he'd have more room.

I have a different take on this. She's just had the baby,
feels like she's in a prison and now she gets a vacation - for her it will be a real treat.

Also people relax more and open up when they are away from the everyday durgery and sameness of their normal lives.
This may be a good opportunity for Don to reveal some of himself to Betty. I'd like to see that.

I got the feeling that Don was going to Rome alone. He said something to Betty about being able to stay at The Waldorf whenever she wants. Kind of like a consulation to not being able to go to Rome with him.
Of course, it could be Rome, NY for all we know!!!

Hey Dry! I did finally figure out a way to get back and read your responses on the Bacardi post. This site was making me crazy trying to go back but I finally figured out that, because I posted it, I could go back through the links on my profile. There is so much traffic on here now that I'm having a hard time keeping up.

I am fascinated with Cuba before the revolution... can't wait to read that book.
