Don's Pseudonyms

Everyone knows Dick Whitman is now living as Don Draper. We also know he used the name Tilden Katz at the gambling den in Six Months Leave. He used the name Bill Hofstadt flying down to Baltimore. Has he used the names of other real people that we know of? What names could he have used?

He referred to his decking Jimmy Barrett as a real "Archibald Whitman" maneuver. Not quite him using a pseudonym, but it's still him referring to himself -- or, rather, his actions -- as those of someone else.

My take was that he borrowed his brother-in-law's suitcase because Sally broke his. Or else his explanantion to Sal was true: his brother-in-law had borrowed it previously and had his name put on it.

I think you have all the names he's used. The reason behind the use of each name is what's interesting. The "Tilden Katz" usage came out left field except that he must have had Rachel on the brain and wanted to make a joke out of her hubby.

He could've called himself "Houdini" after disappearing in CA and reappearing in NYC like nothing happened.

I like to call him "Toasted" sometimes, although he only was once.
