Is it me or did they imply Don is being let go...

In the teaser clip that aired after the AMC 10pm EST broadcast fo the show, there was a montage of clips from the coming season that served as a sneak peak of things to come.

In one of the scenes, it appears as thoguh the new CFO (I forgot his name) is letting Don Draper go. Was I the only person that caught that scene?

No, I saw it too, but I think it was just that, a teaser. Or, they might be letting him go but through a series of events, he'll get back in. The only problem is, when too many teasers happen (and then don't pan out to be much of anything), that can be a sign that a show is losing a bit of steam.

The 'teaser' is meant to throw you off and make you think the worst so you'll watch next week. Sometimes it's cut in an odd way and the line of dialogue is directed at someone completely different than who you think it's directed at or the context is different (ala Joan saying "someone you think is dead...is not" in a teaser was really her discussing the plot of a soap opera). At the worst, the guy is telling Don some bad news - who knows what it is yet. Maybe Don just didn't land a new client.

My computer just hiccuped...so I hope this doesn't show up twice.

I saw the scene too. I don't think Don will be fired, maybe he has to fire someone else, or he lost an account?
We never know with Mad Men!

I was very interested in the scene with Roger's daughter making a comment to him about she and Jane being close to the same age. I wonder if he told her Jane is pregnant?

We'll see....

I think Don will be let go and that might be the catalyst to Bert Cooper saying to heck with the merger, here's your money back to the Brits.

I saw that brief scene, too, and what struck me about it was how drawn and almost ill Don looked. I can't remember his words, but he really looked very upset. I don't think he is being fired, but I am very curious to know just what had him so upset.

Did anyone else notice this?

I did Z. There's one clip where he says something along the lines of "I don't know what do to" or something like that and it appears that it's in his home.

Some where (probably on this forum) there was speculation that he loses the London Fog account. I think that's really plausible with the nature of the ad and the type of clients they are. Especially with new bosses ("superiors" as whatshisname put it), that could be a really big deal. Still, Don is somewhat legendary in the business so I don't see him being fired. I agree with Auburn Annie that's it's probably something taken out of context to throw us off. I wish it was available to watch online!

Duck was fired, for his blowup about Don, in the first board meeting. Right ????????????

Rumor has it that Don loses the London Fog account (I think you also mentioned this MsFabulous), and somewhere I read something by Weiner that hinted at this. I am almost sure I did. The whole thing is a teaser (Don won't be fired). He might be given a leave of absence but realistically, he won't be permanently fired. Weiner loves those teasers, it seems.

....."I did my job."

Something was definitely up there, be it losing London Fog or whatnot.

It's got to be losing the London Fog account. The old man is, well, not stuffy but conservative and this would be really pushing the envelope at that time. I forget when the "I dreamed I was... while wearing my Maidenform bra," ad campaign happened but this would be more sensational.

Don's "Limit your exposure" campaign should have been one of three possibilities presented to LF, presented as, "...and if you really want to be daring..."

Don may have been expecting to be promoted after Duck was shoved out. Maybe he was denied that.
