The people with the worst marriages are always the most shocked when someone else actually does something about their bad marriage. Betty's expression was priceless.

Happy was pregnant with Nelson's child when she was divorced which was the reason for the speed of the marriage. Her husband demanded full custody of their children in order to give her the divorce.

It was a tremendous scandal at the time. Rockfeller really took himself out of he running getting divorced in the first place. The first "divorced" Presidental candidate was Reagan. more than two decads later.

Rockefeller wanted to be President in the worst way. He was virtually "installed" by his brother David as NYS Governor, a powerbroker who wanted to smoothe the path for the Lower Manhattan business district he was building. David Rockefller's dream? A World Trade Center.
