Shocking!

Some great new videos in the video section of this site. Watch the 10 most shocking moments!!! At the end of #1 the cast mentions how something shocking will happen in the first couple of episodes of S3. I absolutely can not wait!

It's over on the Blog area, Dry....wonderful trip down memory lane...only downside is it makes you more anxious than ever.

They all look so sharp in their S3 adornments...even Peggy...so polished now!

I can't wait!

Apparently the first episode of Season 3 is entitled "Out of Town." Did we already know that, and I just forgot? Is Don going back to California already?

.....Really? I heard it was called "And Now with More Commercials"....maybe that was a joke.

Going back over Season 1 this week, and it is very different in many ways from Season 2.

Going a little off topic here, but I'm also re-watching S1. I'm reminded of the person who first told me about MM. He said, after the first two or three episodes, "Not a lot happens, things just kind of unfold. I'm not sure I get everything, but I like it." That's kind of how I felt after the first two or three episodes also. Things change as I got more familiar with it of course, but I agree that S1 and S2 are really different.

Very excited about what's so shocking about S3. I just hope it's not something overly dramatic and forced. That's my big worry for the show, especially with its increased popularity.

Oh so true, njdnjg...Intriguing might be the word...you get so drawn in and then you get utterly hooked, before you even realize it's happened!

....Okay, and "Dale" and "Mitch?"

Dale was part of the Creative team in the beginning of Season 1, played by Mark Kelley, and Mitch is the head of Media, not Accounting. Don't think we've seen him yet.

I'm at a significant disadvantage from not owning any of the DVDs with their commentary..... yet.

Perhaps not quite as shocking as Roger, Betty and Freddie losing control, and Don getting the upper hand, there are so many Man Men moments that I can't seem to forget. Little vignettes that remain in the memory long after the episode is over. I still have not forgotten how stunned I was when Don and Betty trashed the park after their picnic - a minor moment, I know, but still...or poor Chauncey being betrayed by Duck, and the look on Kitty's face as she asked Sal if he even remembered she was there....or Joan as the evil rat doctor had his way with her....or Peggy as she gathered her courage, asking Don for the money he owed her. Little moments, but so memorable....Mad Men abounds with them.

.....Sorry, it's entirely possible Dale was in Accounts, not Creative.

Yes, Z...all those memorable little MM moments...

I thought of another (relatively minor) one...remember in S1 when Roger was sitting there on the hotel bed fretting about some problems with Margaret (when wasn't he??) to someone off-camera?....and you assumed (well, I did anyway) he was talking to his wife? And it turned out to be Joan...! That caught me totally off-guard (their affair)...I just wasn't expecting that at all. Not shocked exactly, but definitely surprised.

I still hope against hope they can get together again (marriage would be nice) down the line....but I want Mona to find someone first...she deserves to find happiness.

That's my fear too. I hope they are not going to do shocking things just for the sake of it.

Loved the 10 shocking moments.
On some Season 3 teaser somewhere I saw Chauncey, looking none the worse for wear. Did anybody else see this or am I hallucinating?

.....Aren't all the clips from former seasons? I mean, I've read that Matt has a serious thing about spoilers of any kind, so guessing there's little likelihood we'll see anything new until pretty close to the premiere.

I'm a little worried sometimes that the temptation to get carried away and pull a Sopranos or Tarantino on us, just for the shock value, will overtake the stories.

What is different about this series, in the spirit of many films from the distant past, is that the "shocks" are just as visceral, but more subtle.

You know, no one's head is getting bashed in with a baseball bat, and so far there's no murder (one suicide), but they horrify us with the various characters' behavior, nonetheless.

...or butchering folks up in bathtubs.....nasty!
