.....Dammit! Apparently I pressed a bad button.
.....Well, let's try this again.....

For starters.....
.....Just curious about this particular point in history.....
......blah blah blah.....What are we fightin' for....
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn.....
....Next stop, is Afghanistan....
And it's five, six, seven, open up the Pearly Gates.....
Don't know why, I wonder why.....
Whoopee, we're all gonna die.....
.....Shit. The world wide web just spent a spell defeating me.
SHIT.
I give up!!

.....What I was TRYING to SAY, was "Hell, NO, we Won't Go!"
Jesus. It feels like Communitst Russia!!!!!!
Dry, by "this point in history", do you mean Viet Nam, Woodstock or the fact that the 60s had some really great music?
Hey Dry, that website you posted is cool! It's Curtis Mayfield singing "Superfly". If I remember correctly
Mr. Superfly was a street hustler trying to get out of the business, settle the score and run off with his woman and the cash. He was another "Mad Man" of sorts I'd say. Though I am trying to find the connection. Should we all get out now with all of the wars going on or should we protest the US plans to add 30,000 more troops to the Army. "Hell No We won't Go" is very appropriate and very well parallels with the time frame of our beloved "Mad Men". I hope I'm on the right track. Yes, we're all going to die. The questions are; When, Where and How? I think the real questions are; Do we believe in an afterlife? Whom we'd like to spend it with? Last, but not least, are we ready? Man has always found a reason to fight and after all the dust settles, all the bodies are buried and all the empty lives left. We have these things called Heros, Sheroes, Independence, Freedom, Liberty and Justice for All! Right!....These days I don't know what's it's going to be. We no longer have to worry about the "Missles of October" but now we have to worry about the "Missles" period! I think I got you Lady Dry. Please correct me if tripped over the rug!

Hi Dry~ Whatever happened to Country Joe and the Fish? Any idea?
.....I'm sorry these are so messed up - thought it was this site, but turns out it's my internet, after an hour of diagnostics with the cable people.
Some sites have the ability to edit or even delete posts, even if for just a few minutes, so that is a disadvantage sometimes.
Great post, pink, even if that was a mistake. You've really got your thinking cap on!
Mambo, I posted this because I wanted people in the know (of which I am not) to discuss all those things, particularly the war, and also it seemed to kind of reflect some of the same sentiments of today.
Like English Paul said the other day about waiting to post his Beatles encounter, I know we are not quite there yet, but we will be soon, I think, and I wanted your views and recollections on these things BEFORE they come up in the series.
katie.....I saw him on TV the other day, looking very well. From his website http://www.countryjoe.com, it seems he has been very active in various things, including activism, music and, for whatever reason, a big interest in Florence Nightingale(??)
Hi Dry, I have lots of thoughts about Viet Nam and surrounding events, but I want to think about them and post something coherent, so I'll do it later today.
PS. I drew a floorplan for the Draper's house, but I have to find a way to post it. I don't know how to put something on Youtube; would that be a way to go? I can probably get my sister to do it, she's more internet savvy than I am. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
Florence Nightengale? Really! You just never know.
FYI...You may know that there's a new Ang Lee film coming out soon called "Taking Woodstock", just in time for the 40th anniversary. It looks like a lot of fun.
.....katie.....No, I didn't, but my ears are definitely perked for that one.....It's bound to be a classic, considering the director and subject matter.
Thanks, Mambo.....This will come up again, even if this thread is wanting. Just thought I'd pose it early.
Do you have Photobucket? Maybe you could save it as a .jpg, and then upload it there, and then post the direct link?
Definitely want to see that!
I can definitely save it as a jpeg; I'll ask my sister to help me. She posts photos to the net. Stay tuned.
I'd love to see that, too, Mambo...neat-o!
.....The house has been bothering me, for some reason, so I'd love to see your sketch.
Getting into Photobucket is easy, like any other "registration" out there.
You can save a lot of cool stuff from various places on the internet.
....pink.....That post of yours is still blowing me away.
That deserves some kind of analytical award, or something.
.....No, my friend, you have not, not now and not ever, tripped over anything.
Please.....continue....
.....This can't go unearthed......

Turn it up.....
Loved it, Dry....fancy footwork and tacky suits! Yeah man! So cool! Can't be beat....
Here's one for the season...."Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr--uck-----chuck...chuck.....chucka......chuck"---
.....Go Billy!
Don't "get" the cowboy hat, but Hoss Cartwright had nothin' on this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xrhcQcAJSI
...not to mention Fred-Mertz-Pants syndrome!
Hey, I just noticed Paul Revere (looks like him anyway) from Paul Revere and the Raiders, with a cowboy hat on at the last....must have been a theme thing they had going on....
Anyway, Billy S.'s was some 10-gallon special....
