Awesome!! Finally some new material... thanks! I'll bet that was a long photo shoot for Jon Hamm sitting in all that water!!

user-pic

I wonder if the water was "Photoshopped" into the picture. Very cool imagery!

.....Didn't even get his cigarette wet.....heh heh.....

They must be finished filming by now, and editing, etc., shouldn't they?

Getting excited!

The water was created with a 3D application like MAYA or Autodesk 3D Studio.

Then composited with an image of Don Draper in his office. The artist took care to ensure that the camera angles and lens millimeters of both images were the same, and that the light impinging on Draper also shone upon the water in a similar way.

Some extra subterfuge with Photoshop (like the cigarette box), and--- voila!

I can't imagine this promo pic actually taken with Don sitting in real water... That would've been a nightmare to shoot.

Jane...thanks for the link...DrowningDD is now on my desktop!

Ahh, rasputin, I could be wrong, but I think that would be a cigarette "pack", not a box. With the white package and red circle, it resembles Lucky Strike. L.S.M.F.T. Lucky Strike Makes Fine Tobacco was the slogan.

Just got an e-mail from Amazon that my MM DVD Season 2 has been shipped - only $24.49 and since I pre-ordered it, no shipping charges! (NO, I don't work for Amazon, just thought I'd pass that along in case anyone is looking for a copy.)

user-pic

Shoot, I can't see it....

user-pic

Does anyone have the pictures? They are no longer on the site.

user-pic

If someone could send the picture to puckettj@ljtube.com I would appreciate it!

user-pic

.....What the hell? Those were fine!!

How is that a problem??

user-pic

Found the photo on this website:

Enjoy!

.....I'd forgotten how completely freaking funny "Don Draper's Guide to Picking Up Women" really is.

They did a great job with the wardrobe, hair, and making it look like the real Sterling Coo.

Thanks for posting this, Catty.

The water is rising! And Don, of course, has his life jacket right there in the desk drawer....cool as
ice.

....sigh

user-pic

On second thought, after looking and studying the poster, I wonder if it means that everything around DD is drowning and HE is the only one able to "keep his head above water"? He looks quite confident, is not struggling, and seems strong enough to survive.

Rasputin, I'm impressed with your knowledge. Thanks for the explanation.

p.s. Correction: L.S.M.F.T. Lucky Strike MEANS Fine Tobacco.

user-pic

.....Thinking that too, roszie.....like Wayne's World.......

"We're not worthy! We're not worthy!"

user-pic

That's not what I was told L.S.M.F.T. meant.....of course, it was my sailor brother who told me, and you know what they say about sailors.

user-pic

.....What? Is their number(s)?

user-pic

Is that anything like S.N.A.F.U.????

(which could easily be used to describe our Beloved Forum in this off season, soon-to-be-over--thank-God!!!)

user-pic

....Bad joke, bad joke.

user-pic

Don's not the only one drowning - I feel like I'm going down for the third time myself.

user-pic

.....Why is that? I tried to find the post where you said I was invalidating you, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I did NOT invalidate you at any time, or tell you to get over it. I DEFENDED you!

What I said to your comment, "I hate her," was "No, you don't. She's a Maddict who lost her way."

It was a peacekeeping gesture, not an invalidation, and it's not the same thing at all.

user-pic

I did not say you invalidated me, dear Dry, I merely pointed out that when I was attacked by Ruthsgirl and said I was really, really hating her, you very wisely said "No, you don't. She's a Maddict who lost her way." I took that to mean "let it go, it is an ugliness not worth hanging onto".

That is what I was trying to say to you. Granted, I obviously was not seeing the same ugliness in Jackie's posts that you were seeing. I apologize for that. I was reading her posts as lighthearted, teasing banter. You read them immediately as something different. But the whole tone of your immediate response was so sudden and jarring to me that I was thrown for a loop, I guess.

I know it must have been very confusing and disappointing and, yes, even hurtful when no one seemed to see the same ugliness in the posts that you were seeing. Again, I apologize. You expected support and did not get it. I'm very sorry.

Ruthsgirl's attack on me had no hidden meaning, it was right out there..."Zerelda, you are a nasty person with an inflated ego and you are always telling other people what to write"....or words to that effect. Gosh, that still stings. But I don't hate her, 'cause in one respect she is right. I took you to task for using that one particular word I do not care for. I had no right to do that. I can only say in my defense that I have in the past had that word flung at me like a slap in the face on a daily basis. That time was long ago but the hatred and bitterness that word evokes are with me still.

However, just because I have hangups over certain words doesn't give me the right to try to censor other people. I apologize for that too. When I think of the wonderful posts of yours that I have had the pleasure of reading on this Forum, the thought of anyone censoring your words is more than slightly appalling.

Dry Manhattan, I am offering to you my most sincere "I am sorry" for the part I played in this most unfortunate and ugly affair. I can do no more than that. Please accept.
