Pete and Trudy
For any Sex and the City fans out there, do Pete and Trudy remind you of Charlotte and Trey McDougall? It's so easy to imagine a very insensitive Pete coming home with a cardboard cutout of a baby to try and placate his fertility challenged Park Avenue princess wife!

Yes, good point. I also always thought Sex and the City borrowed a lot from the Golden Girls, especially the Samantha/Blanche characters. Rose and Charlotte were the sweet and naive ones, Dorothy and - oops, brain fade! - the Cynthia Nixon character were sort of cynical and never had luck with men.
Yes, they are total reminders of that. Everything perfect on the outside with many problems behind closed doors.
So I guess that makes Sarah Jessica's Carrie a match for the Sophia character? Makes sense - they are both tiny powerhouses.
Great comparisons, guys....of course the mere mention of Sophia on The Golden Girls brings to my mind the famous threat to her from Dorothy to get her back in line:
"Shady Pines, Ma!....Shady Pines!"
(the name of the nursing home where she'd lived prior to moving in with Dorothy and the "girls"...!)
.....That scene was so memorable because Charlotte is so funny when she's mad, and of course Trey was oblivious, as usual.
Good comparison.
Pete and a cardboard baby.....Wouldn't put it past him.
Seeing all those pictures of Betty pregnant has gotten me to wondering about how Pete will feel when he discovers Don will be a father again.
Having just found out he fathered a child and it is lost to him, with Trudy supposedly unable to have children, will he resent Don for his seemingly easy fatherhood? Will this stir up the old anger he had against Don that seemed to be disappearing when Pete alerted Don to Duck's scheming? I know Pete wasn't all that gung ho about having children, but now that he knows about Peggy's baby, will he change?
I wouldn't be one bit surprised, z...Pete's already so jealous of Don as it is....
