Oh, gracious! Not another one?
"Established Men - Sugar Daddy Dating, where beautiful girls and successful men meet." C'mon AMC, you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel for ads these days. I suppose it fits in with the Mad Men story line, though. I can see Roger giving them a call. Would he want them as a Sterling Cooper client? How would he spin it so it didn't sound like just an expensive call girl operation? I can just see him ordering Don to ditch the Arthur Murray Dance Studio and concentrate on Sugar Daddy Dating.
Throw this ad back in the barrel along with the one for body shaving, and credit Mad Men fans with some taste and discrimination, for Pete's sake.

Gotta agree, z....but, the ....ahem..."body hair" shaver ad was worse....so far, anyway!
Sugar Daddy Dating....let's see....how WOULD Roger "spin" that one???? Hmmmmmmm.....maybe:
"Dinner Companions...Charming, Elegant, Worthy of your Distinguished Company...Call Today! BR-549...You deserve it....You've earned it...."
He'd be their best customer, too!
.....Kack!
Where are you seeing these ads? I don't see them on the blog or talk pages - are they on the TV reruns?
Sixties, they are usually below the posting area, or somewhere on our forum pages....like the Ray Ban one on here now and the make your own electricity ones currently on here, as well...(they'll probably be gone now!) They come and go.....sneaky devils!
.....Creepy, isn't it?
Dry...that chick in the Ray Ban ad needs to go down to the creek for a good scrubbin'....or lay off the blueberries....
.....That Dunkin' Donuts egg-and-cheese-wrap made me hungry.....NOT!.....
..I dunno, Flo from Progressives ok, she's pretty
perky.
...."Flo" is about to have a "Flo-er" or "Flo-ette."
A "Flo-baby."
Go Flo! Pop that lil dude/dudette outa there....
she should name it "Trickle" or????
Seep?
Gush?
I'm done now.....
Flo of the Progressive ads also appeared as the secretary Marge in five episodes in MM S1. (See imdb for which episodes.) So let's be kind to MM alumni.
On another note, below the comment section (today) is the video advertisement whose title is "The trees look taller when there's no underbrush." subtitled: "See how and why to shave your groin." From Gillette. I shake my head with a reluctant grin.
.....SCfan, First I'm going to wash your mouth out with soap, then I'm going to unleash my Metal playlist on you.
Dry...I'd like to see you try! (lol?)
Ritt1, zerelda posted a thread on just that ad you mentioned, forget the name of it just now...it's not too far back in the list, though...
There weren't any male posters yet (may be some by now)...so mosey on over there and post, please.
Ritt1, that thread was called "Good Lord!" posted by z on 6-18....and do we have two "Ritt"s?
If so, and Ritt1 is a female, my apologies....
If Flo has twins they could be "Piddle" and "Puddle"
.....Erp.....
.....and {:P
...and maybe "Tinkle".....?
(for triplets)
I never see the ads because I intentionally don't have the latest version of Flashplayer (it's just white space where the ads should be, it's actually nice), so I didn't know what you were talking about. I looked on my computer at work today and saw the shaving ad; I thought Zerelda was joking! How disgusting! I was afraid to click on it, though, I didn't know how "specific" the shaving instructions were and I didn't want anyone at work seeing it; I was afraid they would think it was porn!
And BTW, I read somewhere that, how can I put this delicately, that that whole shaving business, especially when men like their women that way, is a red flag for pedophiles. But then, I'm the queen of cynicism.
Mambo, I have wondered before what caused the boom in women's "bikini area" hair removal (extreme removal, if you get my drift) now I guess what you said (pedophiles) makes as much sense as anything. How did women manage for hundreds of years before all that got popular?
Hmmmmmmmm....didn't I read somewhere a few years back (when "it" first got popular) that there was a scene in Sex and the City where Samantha and her man of the day de-haired each other in the shower one time and such things took off (no pun intended) after that? Well, anyway...why men (or women, for that matter...even though the said ad refers to men) go to that extreme is hard to understand....seems like the upkeep would be exhausting....end of rant....
