does anybody know when season three is going to start???

On the West Coast, for reasons that continue to escape me, Mad Men starts at midnight on Sunday (or actually the first hour of Monday). I was consternated to discover that I waited up on a work night until midnight to watch a repeat last week. Outcome. I'm out of here. Maybe one day I'll see the complete Mad Men series, including Season 3. But the programming decisions of AMC remain a complete mystery. Why so late on the West Coast, why only one chance to catch it, and why repeats when Season 3 was suppose to have started?

Nuts.

The last two seasons have started during the summer, so I'm guessing maybe July or August? I asked this same question in the Season 3 predictions thread but no answer. Maybe we should ask Clayton.....Clayton! Yoo hoo! Are you out there, my friend? If I find out, I'll be back.

I learned from another MM site (where I lurk) about a promo running on movieweb.com that UNEQUIVOCALLY states that the new season of MM starts "Summer 2009". Go watch it.

I enjoy watching Mad Men. I can't wait to see Season 3. I'm currently catching up on Season 1. Reading from the comments, I hope Seasaon 3 will start in the Summer.

Question: how do we know these are real people asking this infernal question? For all we know, it is a stupid ploy of the AMC dolts to raise interest in the next season. I would not put it past them as they have not shown much intelligence thus far in their planning for this show. I mean, of course, the lousy air time they have chosen for re-running Season 2.

I've consulted my crystal ball and tarot cards to find out the exact date Season 3 will begin. So sorry to say that the crystal ball is cracked and my cats ate two of the cards, so predicting at this point in time is hopeless.

If this keeps up I'll never be sober again from all the parties...

Do you suppose Matthew Weiner got where he is today without spellchecking and proofreading? Do you even know who Mr. Weiner is? Have you even watched an episode of Mad Men? holotta, do we have to go outside to smoke? I've taken to rolling my own. Found a website and got a neat little rolling machine, some nice light menthol tobacco and even filtered tubes. (Had to do something since the prices have gone up so much.) Between tootsie pops and rolling my own, I've actually cut back quite a bit on the smoking.

Time for a margarita refill here.

I did something special for myself yesterday, that I've never done before. I had a pedicure! It was so nice to sit in the vibrating, cushy chair while my feet soaked and then were pampered to perfection. Finished off with a sweet pinkish/coral color. Now if the weather would only cooperate I'd be able to sit outside and get some sun.

Right now PETRIFIED FORREST is on TCM. (AMC take note - no commercials and great films.)

Is it really Season 3 beginning on the 13th or are they reviewing Season 2?

I have no idea where this 13th thing got started (13th of what?). Kither56, the reruns of Season 2 are already underway. They come on at midnight on Sundays. If you haven't started watching already, you've missed about 4 episodes. Season 3 is supposed to start this summer.

And if anyone asks this question again, will you please spray them with water, SC?

Dry, is right! How difficult would it be to post dates for S2's DVD release date and the expected premiere date of S3 on the Home page?

Before this everyone wanted to know when S2 would be re-aired. Is there a magic number of how many times a question must be asked until something is resolved?

Yes, ho....I remember right after the first season, AMC kept us posted (pun intended) on all things having to do with the then upcoming S2...they were proud of their new hit and they showed it....sigh

Like all of us....I just don't know what to make of it....

Come on AMC get your act together... the longer it takes for Season 3 to appear on American TV the longer it takes for it to come over here to the UK!!

I guess it is going to be at least Dec 2009 or Jan 2010 before we get this show because we are only now appraoching the end of Season 2 on BBC 4...

Don't think Mad Men has had quite the same impact over here as it had in the States partly because of the setting of this period drama but it is an amazing show in both style and substance!

Why does anyone think MM Season 3 will start on July 26?

Is there any confirmed evidence MM is back in production?

In 2008 MM did go into production early in April. This year there are several complications. AMC renewed MM but LionsGate, the studio actually producing our show, had not signed Matt Weiner to write it and be the show runner. Only after protracted negotiations did MW sign. During that process several key cast members signed with more powerful agents.

Over the last couple of months, instead of press reports about MM filming in Los Angeles there are articles about various cast members making movies elsewhere during May and June.

You would think it is difficult for MW to write scripts until he knows which cast are signed for MM S3. Does SC suddenly have a whole new bunch of employees?
