Season 2, Episode 1 song question
I have been trying to determine the title and singer of a song in the background of a scene in Season 2, Episode 1. It's the scene with Pete and Trudy where she's opening the box of chocolates and they're discussing a woman's pregnancy. It sounds like it might be entitled "Time Will Tell", but I've found no song by that title that has this tune. I found a link on YouTube. The song starts about 6 minutes into this 9-minute clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdKa5HpVFw8&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2Fvideosearch%3Fq%3D%2522Mad%2BMen%2522%2B%2522Season%2B2%2522%26hl%3Den%26emb%3D0%26aq%3Df&feature=player_embedded

.....So, it's NOT Bobby Darin....?
......I fell in love with a Big Potato...
The song was unfamiliar to me but it did sound like Bobby Darin.
Watching the clip from the beginning, I noticed the scene in the hotel room between Don and Betty was much longer than on the TV version. He got up and walked past her to enter the bathroom. He liked. She liked that he liked. Then she walked to the bed and turned down the covers. All that was in the TV version was a quick flash of her in the Gwen Verdon Damn Yankees outfit.
Maybe Jack Jones???
I can't quite tell....
Jack Jones was my thought, too. Though I'm not familiar with that particular song.
This isn't the song you refer to, dcmadmenfan, but it is Jack Jones....on Judy Garland's Christmas Special back in the '60's...doesn't seem fair that a guy could be that gorgeous and sing that great, too!
This fella could give DD a run for it in the looks department:

P. S. Since the thing is Judy's show...the kids get to sing, too....love love love that see-thru fireplace!!!
Liza's pretty good, too...wish she had a better song to sing though. Lorna is actually pretty good, too...
love that whole multi-level bit going on in that house! (If it's a set, it looks like a house, anyway...)
Jack Jones is a possibility, or maybe Andy Williams or Steve Lawrence. Since I'm having such a hard time finding it, I'm guessing more of a second- or even third-tier crooner.
I don't think it's a real song from the 60s. Sounds like something that was created just to be background music on the show.
That would seem so, Mambo... it doesn't sound like anything in the deep recesses of my mind (and that's pretty damn deep and dark! -- ha) at all...and usually MM does use songs that we can readily identify...oh well....
....maybe it's some obscure cut off of one of the aforementioned singers' albums that wasn't popular and didn't get much air play....
A newer crooner had also occurred to me as well, someone like Michael Buble. I listen to the vintage stuff so much that I'm not very familiar with the new guys.
