Peggy is a serial mom of two kids and she has mental problems.
I am trying to determine if Peggy has some mental issues which involves two kids. In the scene with Peggy returning the vacuum cleaner there's Peggy who is saying her goodbyes to her mother and her sister. The sister asks her to say goodbye to the kids and Peggy opens a bedroom door to say her goodbyes.
Did anyone else notice the number of kids in the bedroom? There were three kids in the room. I noticed a toddler who might be around 3yrs. old in a bed. The room also included two cribs in the room with a baby in each one. The oldest one says, "Goodbye Aunt Peggy".
I believe the oldest kid is Peggy's first born and so is one of the two in the crib. I recall Peggy's sister being pregnent at the same time Peggy was, so that explains who the other baby is. The sister is raising all three kids as her own.
There was another episode in which Peggy is in a hospital (maybe a mental hospital) and Don Draper is at her bedside telling her she has to get herself out of there. I think this may have been after one of the kids was born.
Did anyone else catch these scenes and come to the same conclusion, Peggy is a serial mother who seems to be denying it to herself?
So I'm guessing you are new to Mad Men, right? Have you seen Season 1 at all? Is this your first viewing of Season 2? I am not going to spoil anything for you by telling you the truth about the whole Peggy and her baby situation. Just sit back and enjoy watching Mad Men. It is a great show, and you won't be disappointed.

Peggy IS a serial mom. She has had one child by that little married guy and two by Chauncey, before he left her for the streets. Keep watching!

I've been told patience is a vurtue, you obviously have that.
Peggy has ONE child and her sister has 2. Her sis was PG when Peggy was in the institution and already had a toddler.

Regarding Betty: In my perspective, Betty is suffering from depression and anxiety. There are two episodes that show that her hands are trembling;shaking. She's a homemaker, and has lost her identity, and has full responsibility of the two kids. That can be very demanding and stressful.
Although she loves her husband Don, he is not giving her emotional support; is hardly home, and she feels that he is cheating.
The episode that you mention that Betty was in the hospital and Don was telling her that she needs to get over what she's going through, however, I believe that was Peggy when she had the baby!
I'm sorry, oicjohnson but I was referring to Betty. I think that she also has her challenges.
I just watched Season 1, but have not seen the whole season of 2. Can someone explain to me about Peggy. It's obivous that she's pregant from Pete. Is it ever revealed that she had he's baby?
Yep....way way far into the season, it is revealed.
Regarding Peggy's baby. I am convinced that she only has one. Which is Pete's. If you'll recall from the episode when she drops off the vacuum, when she is leaving her sister says to her: "Don't you want to say goodnight to "him". It is then when we see the baby laying in the crib, the camera then moves towards her sister's children in the same room.
Even though Peggy told Pete that she gave his baby away (or words to that effect), I think her sister is raising him. When Peggy was in church holding a baby, I think that is actually her (Peggy's) child, and her sister's baby, who is about the same age, was home with the laid-up husband. Remember when the sister told the priest when he came for lunch that her husband stayed home from church and "watched the baby"? Well, then the baby in the church had to be Peggy's.
I also meant to point out that comment Peggy's mother made to her about the State of New York and the doctors didn't think Peggy could make her own decisions. I think the child was taken from her and the sister has legal custody.
Well, if Peggy didn't have "mental problems" she wouldn't fit in very well with everyone else on this show!

I don't think Peggy has had more than 1 child. She tells Pete at the end of last season that she gave his baby away.
