I'd love to come down from Toronto...
Where would you suggest staying?.

user-pic

Would that I could, Nora. But, like cad men says...do take pics and post them for us!

Have fun L.A. Maddict Chapter!

Talk about crying because I can't. Shoot.....have fun Nora! It still seems weird to me to have the Academy Awards happening in February rather than March. I don't see movies as much as I used to for some reason (hey, expensive maybe?). Just rented The Cooler with Bill Macy and Alec Baldwin. Always wanted to see it, so hope it's good.

Heh Heidi Hoadley ... I live in Toronto cheers neighbour

Alfred E. Neuman - You're back! Missed your gap-toothed image!

I am looking forward to the Oscars this year. I never miss it, and will be tucked up on the couch with my cat and some good munchies and tea, but no champagne. The reason I am looking forward to it is Hugh Jackman. I adore him, and I think he will be a wonderful and appropriate host.

Wish I could join you Maddicts in LA, but you all have a great time, and please report in on Monday with all the details and pictures, too, if you have any. I never did see the pictures from the New York holiday trip, and feel very left out.

Champagne at the Polo Lounge on Oscar night! Have a wonderful time, but watch out for suspicious Europeans and doctors who want to give you a little "pick-me-up" shot when you pass out by the pool!

Me, too, z., never miss the Oscars, also love Hugh J.

He is one of those stars who can do it all. Plus he is very very easy on the eyes.

I'll have my tea in my MM mug...filled right up to that "whiskey" line! Also, some brownies, or a few Valentine chocolates! Yum.

I never saw those NYC Maddict get-together pics either. Thought they were going to get posted to Bryan Batt's site, but not so far. I think Gail may have sent them through e-mails to everyone who posted their e-mail add. I have nothing against any of you all having my e-mail add. just didn't want to post it on a public forum. Hacker paranoia.

Wish they'd get posted to bryanbatt.com! or at least somewhere on this site....

Nora, why don't you just stick a knife in my heart???

Sounds fabulous, and I'll be there in spirit.

Heidi Hoadly,
You can stay at the Marriott Residences on Beverly Dr. and Pico Blv. It's about $80 a night. Right near my house. If you have any trouble booking let me know. Tomorrow I'll have phone numbers I'll post!

And YES Maddicts, I will definitely take pictures and post them!!!!!

Sorry Sandy,
Truly wish you could come!

SCfan, cad men, zerelda, jamm54,
The second best place to watch the Oscars besides the Polo Lounge is your cozy couch!! Believe me! Hope you enjoy yourselves and I'll be thinking about you!!
Love,
Nora

Nora, please let us know if you see any celebrities in the Lounge with you!

I wonder where Jon and Jennifer will watch it, Do you think they will have people in??? "If I were King", I would arrange to have them come to the PL and go straight to your booth or table for a while. Wouldn't your hearts stop? Jon, if you read these postings, please give then a break! It would be great press.

Maybe by the time the series ends we'll be able to communicate real time with each other through our TV sets or something! We can only hope.

We'll have great fun discussing the Oscars for a few days and that will shorten the lapse time for us! Cheers!

So how did it go?

I like the Oscars just to see the dresses. Next day I have trouble remembering who actually won and for what. I did like the Japanese guy's speech- best of the evening. "Beddy good, beddy good."

user-pic

Nora....Pictures Pictures! please, if you took any, I mean....

flowerpower, SCfan, Sandy!
The Polo Lounge was great! Sorry not any other Maddicts were able to make it. But, My Mom and Brother and I had a really good time. Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Hubby were at the table next to us. We talked to old friends and watched part of the Oscars there and the rest at home because of my Mom. But, it was just right!!!
How about Slumdog! Can you all believe it??
I loved all the musical numbers and Hugh and the presentations were great!
Love to all,
Nora

Wow, Nora, I just love Bruce Willis. I've been a big fan of his ever since "Moonlighting". I remember in one epi Cybill Shepherd was down on her hands and knees on the floor looking for something she'd dropped and he walked in and said "I didn't know you cared." (!)
Funny how he and his ex-wife and "husband-in-law", Ashton K. all get along so well...kinda wierd, but that's Hollywood, huh?

Yes, Hugh J. was perfection at the Oscars, hope they ask him back.
