Mad Men Season 3

I am trying to get anyone to post when Mad Men season 3 will begin airing. There is nothing mentioned on this site at all with new dates. Also, There are not enough episodes. Please add more episodes?

Before ANC can announce the start of Season 3, LionsGate needs to make deals with the cast and schedule the start of production. In 2008 production started in early April, but all the regular and major recurring cast had already been signed.

Unless the writers know which actors return, they cannot plan for all the characters. There will be a bunch of publicity long before Season 3 Episode 1 hits the air!

Probably same time this year (late July-early August). The contracts were signed pretty late, and who knows about the rest of the cast.

Don't you wish the cast would sign multi-year contracts (like MW did, I understand) so we could not have the pins and needles routine every single year, wondering and waiting and hoping?

Oh well...I hope they haven't all gotten lawyers and are haggling for more and more money---- to the detriment of the show. It's happened before. I hope they all return. Wouldn't be the same without the familiar gang!

I wouldn't think in today's economic climate that this would be a great time to play hardball in negotiations. MM doesn't quite have the viewing numbers to attract as much advertising dollars as the advertisers would like. Heck, even in primetime for the 3 networks (ABC, NBC, CBS), it seems like the advertising is down.
