Season 2 is on sale at iTunes -- I had no luck with iTunes Season 1 - the episodes took forever to download...and a month or so later, my hard drive ate the episodes.
I do not know. Somebody else on these boards said the same thing: they cannot tape or TiVo from AMC.
Maybe it's a glitch in the system of some kind. I thought something was wrong with my VCR but I guess not, if somebody else said they couldn't tape AMC.
When broadcast television went all digital on February 17, 2009, all analog VCR's instantly became obsolete. You can not record a direct digital signal on a VHS analog system.
Solutions - if you are a Comcast customer, you may upgrade to the TIVO recorder. Or search the Internet and down load the shows. Or wait until they rebroadcast. Or buy Season 2 in a couple of months.
True about obsolete older TV'sand VCR's That is why you need satallite or cable TV so you can get a DVR box.(usually free). Nothing is easier than recording programs (up to several hundred hours) on your DVR or pausing a live program so you can FF thru commercials afterwards. No pesky tape-eating VCR's
Yes, Madmen will repeat throughout each week at different times. You can check that online probably.
If anyone is considering getting DISH satallite beware that AMC is NOT on the first tier. You have to sign up for 100 plus channels to get AMC. I recently dumped cable for DISH and talked to as many people as I could at DISH about adding AMC to their basic channel lineup. The idea that there people out there who cannot get AMC and therefore are missing Mad Men is driving me nuts!
I cannot tape anything from AMC.
And all the episodes air after midnite.

Don't you think AMC will air episodes several times during the week? Boy, I hope so! Why can't you tape stuff from AMC?
