Rachel Menken Katz
Remember how Rachel Menken decided to not eun away with Don Draper at the end of Season 1? Then at a critical moment in Season 2 Rachel ran into Don where she introduced him to her new husband?
Our beloved Rachel Menken Katz is played by the talented Maggie Siff. Following Season 1 of MM she appeared as a series regular on "Sons of Anarchy"
On January 28 Maggie Siff began a recurring role on the ABC series "Life on Mars" as Maria Belanger, a sympathetic social worker who is attracted to the series lead. Lets us say "Maria" is more sexually adventurous that was "Rachel" Maybe it is a function of the times, since Life on Mars takes place in 1973.
Perhaps while we wait of Season 3 of Mad Men we can enjoy Jon Hamm on 30 Rock; Maggie Siff on Life on Mars; and Rosemarie DeWitt (Midge Daniels in Season 1) as "Charmaine" on "United States of Tara"

Rachel is the most interesting of the charecters on the Mad Men as she is the only one who was able to figure him Don Draoer. It was interesting when he had to give a name to get into the underground gambling club, he gave the name of Tillman Katz. He obviously has her on his mind. Maggie Siff portrayed the role with subtle nuance. She could come back and really mess with Don's world.
MAMm, Rachel's husband is "Tilden" Katz. I, too, hope she returns in Season 3.
I saw Maggie Siff on "Life On Mars" last week. It is a good thing I decided to give the show another chance, and it HAS improved. She is a welcome addition. I loved her on "Sons of Anarchy" - lots of angst and hot lovin' on that show. I guess it won't be back....

As a fan or the original UK series, I didn't get much into this series. Didn't help that ABC kept changing the schedule.
Should I give it another chance?
CCAdams - sorry, I guess I was repeating several bloggers notes on Hamm on 30 Rock and Siff on Life on Mars (my, I AM suffering from senile ADD). Haven't been on the forum for a couple months.
Love Life on Mars, and read about the BBC version on Wikipedia. From their description and the playout of the whole series, it removed any concerns I had about where the US series is going, if it will continue or even how it will end. Apparently, no mysteries about the BBC version were neatly wrapped up by the demise of the show, so I'm not worrying about the US version - just enjoying the ride.
The Original "Life on Mars" was prefection! The best part was that it had a beginning, a middle, and an end!
These American programmes stay on way past their expiration date....I think LOM told the whole story in a concise 18 episodes. Enough!
