Other "Perfect" Roles for Jon
I would love to see a re-make of one of the first mini-series events, "Rich Man, Poor Man" (Feb., 1976) with Jon playing Tom Jordache (the baddie brother) and the guy from JAG playing Rudy (the goodie brother). What a story! What plots! What talent to be showcased.
How about it, Maddicts? Do you agree? And what other roles would you like to see our Jon play?

What a neat idea, Sandy...our Jon in Nick Nolte's role of long ago.
Remember when the big publicity build up was for Peter Strauss as Rudy and then Nick blew them all away with his performance as Tom? Not sure Peter S.'s career ever really got going, and we all know Nick's was mostly great.
Maybe Jon as a gigolo in a movie...he's good at that, don't we all know!
Can't think of anything specific, but, with his talent and looks, he'd be great in anything he tackled!
Please, God, just let it all be in the off-season of MM!
Thanks, SCfan!
Nolte did indeed steal the show, and I remained a fan. I particularly liked him in "The Prince of Tides". And one thing for sure -- every time I'm blue, thinking of his famous mug shot starts me laughing! Not his best moment, for sure.
Oh yeah, Sandy! Remember Nick saying,
"What's wrong with my shirt?" and
"What's wrong with my hair?"
(referring to said mug shot!)
He was also good in "Down and Out In Beverly Hills".
I think a lot of his appeal (besides being great at acting) is he is so humble...he just says, here I am take me or leave me...love that about the guy.
For another good laugh, google the mug shot of James Brown...in his, he didn't even have time to get out of his robe!
So hilarious.
Though I never did bother to see Jon in The Day The Earth Stood Still, not a sci-fi fan, I did see him on SNL and was thrilled to see his diversity.. I admit that I'm mesmerized by his remoteness and tend to want to keep his characters in that same general feeling.. Perhaps a remake of High Noon or as I think on it, any old Gary Cooper role...
I nominate "Hud"........piercing blue eyes.......liked older women.......
Yeah, silver...he needs a movie role playing a charming cad.
Let's face it, that's his specialty!
Love to see him in that scene where he's lying across Alma's bed (fully clothed) but leering at her and asks if she ever still gets that "itch" and she answers "off and on" to which he says "Well, let me know if it gets to botherin' ya."
Sexy ain't the word! I bet JH could do it to make Paul N. proud!
Let's see...who would be a good one for the role of the housekeeper, Alma? (Patricia Neal's "Oscar winning role"!)...maybe...well hell...I can't think of anyone!
Any ideas??
If anyone dared to remake "All About Eve" Mr. Hamm could do Bill Simpson or Lloyd Richards.
He seems to do a nervous on the verge of sweating part well. I can not think of a part for that. I know it is out there.
"Dragonwyck"----Nicholas Van Ryn
Oh, and he'd be great as the next James Bond...but, I hope he stays with MM!
I'm so selfish!
I wish I could picture a book I have read as a movie that has not been made...but I can't.
How about a new movie about Valentino or Errol Flynn. Even Buddy Rogers might be something fresh from the past.
57, is Buddy Rogers the guy who was in "Wings" the movie that won the first Best Picture Oscar?
That would be interesting indeed for our Mr. Hamm.
Errol was bi-sexual carouser deluxe, I believe, so that would be an interesting movie indeed...probably a lot like Don D. only even more
wild and crazy!
Good suggetions.
here we go again!...suggestions...not what I put up there. I've got to learn to type right......
That is the Buddy I was talking about.
Any more ideas?
My muse left the building.
He could play a fictional coach of the Sooners that wins the bowl game. Sorry Mr. Stoops, we know you work hard.
Yeah, 57, wouldn't that be nice?
His name could be Rob Shoops and he could actually... win!
Yay! lol
Bond James Bond
jh would make a perfect lone ranger. clayton moore and jon ham are cut from the same stone. both have that same stoic character.
