Say it isn't so. Without Matt Weiner, the show would deteriorate into a soap opera. I'd rather have no Season 3, than a season without his vision. I'd hate to see such a thing happen to the greatest show on television.

Please AMC, work it out!!!!! Don't let this show fall into the fell clutches of some mediocre Hollywood writer and producer.

I already wrote to AMC on this and just can't imagine what they are doing!!! PAY THE MAN! THEY WILL LOSE OUT WITHOUT MATT!!!! HAVE THEY NO VISION!!! WHAT IS THIS????? PAY THE MAN!!!!!!!!! PAY THE MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! PAY THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe Mad Men would be as deeply compellling on so many levels without Mr. Weiner. It is his show, his characters, his vision, for crying out loud. Do what you have to do to keep him - you won't regret it in the end. If you don't keep him, Mad Men might stagger on for another couple of seasons, slowing sliding dowhhill in quality, with the actors bailing one by one and viewership dropping even faster, leaving all of us who adore Mad Men to sadly mourn the early demise of what might just be the greatest show in television history.

We need Matt! I can tell by the Inside Mad Men comments that Matt is the whole shebang when it comes to Mad Men.

Matt Weiner must stay. His vision can't be easily duplicated.

If AMC begrudges any wish or whim Matt may have, tv history will suffer. His production is the finest viewing I've had since Upstairs Downstairs and I have to say it's been a long time coming...
I cringe to think that it may be a long time gone.

Im so pissed that they can even think about replacing him!! He is the root to this show, who else will be able to run a show like this and keep all of us blogging almost 900 post when this shows air. I can even imagine who will have the talent and mindset for this type of adult show. KEEP MR. WEINER WE LOVE HIS TALENT!!!

It's unbelievable that AMC would even CONSIDER not paying him. The whole cast should collectively strike if they pull something like that.

Listen to the DVD commentaries from Season 1 - and you'll hear how his attention to detail is what makes this show far and above anything else I've seen on television. He picked out the kind of meatloaf Betty would serve Don, the "chip and dip" was from his mom's own kitchen, he picked out the watch that Don wears, he left one toy under the dining room table at the end of the last episode of Season 1 - it's incredible the attention to detail - the respect of the characters, respect of the period, respect for good writing, respect for story-telling - I've never seen this kind of quality on television.

They are morons for not paying him whatever he wants. I just bought the Season 1 DVD and I own almost no DVD's. I'll buy all the other seasons as well - there are plenty of ways for AMC to make money off of a quality product.
