I thought this would be a good place for those who need to ask any of the posters a question and don't want to bother the readers of the open thread or special categories!

I don't know how you did it, but there is another old song that I have tried to locate and cannot. It is by a very young Tony Bennett entitled "Someone Turned The World Upside Down" ('54?) . If you will tell me your procedure, I'll be happy to search it myself. Many thanks! Sandy

Hi Sandy... I think you 'might' mean...

"Someone Turned the Moon Upside Down"


... which Bennett recorded (in studio) back in March 17, 1953... so that's a REALLY early one... he did a live version of it in the 70s, if memory serves but, not sure if he recorded it then...

The 1953 version was a Columbia recording the album of the same name... best to trace it through the ablums title because the original serial numbers don't apply now...

I don't think that's available generally...

You could look on compliation CDs from 1947 till 1954 and see if you can get it that way... or any CD with his earliest recordings...
