OMG...I feel like im the last one to know!
I first heard about this show when it won so many accolades at the emmys. Being in fashion i had to watch, i just started watching 3episodes ago and im in LOVE!!! Although im a little lost with whats going on, im hoping their will be some re-runs soon so i can catch up and understand. But all in all im in love with the "vintageness" of the show. This is how men should dress all the time, hopefully this show will help people get some manners back in their daily lives. Mad Men is going to do to mens fashion what sex in the city did for women. The writing is very smart, and the actors are amazing. Im hooked, and teling all my friends about it...Trust me!!
Im only 29, but im an old soul :)

Hi MC! Welcome!!
Doesn't matter what age you are...you are a Maddict if you love the show! There are fans of all ages on this Forum.
Please bear with us Boomers, we tend to spend a lot of time reminiscing!!
C'mon board MC! My suggestion to you is to rent Season One from Blockuster, Netflix, etc. Then there should definitely be a MM all-day Marathon for Season 2 sometime soon. You can tape it or do what I do -- spend the whole day watching it in MadMen world. Glad to have more viewers. That's the way we'll keep this wonderful program ongoing.
Hey MC! Tonight's the night!
So many questions, so few answers. Welcome aboard!
I am also in love with the fashion and "vintagness" of the show. Love the way the men look too but as for "manners"...I think most of the men on the show act like pigs and treat woman as 2nd class citizens. And talk about sexual harassment in the office! You need to see season 1...not a lot of manners being practiced... by today's standards anyway.

.....Hi MC! Hang around if you can after this episode... it's a loooong break and we're going to need reinforcements!
Welcome, this show is great. You can also read the episode guides for the shows you missed and go to the Fashion Files and read the comments too.
Hi MC, I just started watching MM at the beginning of this season. However, I did rent the 1st season and watched all of it before the 2nd season came on. I loved it so much that I ended up buying the 1st season DVD (because I had some coupons at Barnes & Noble and got a good deal). Now I'm sorry I rented it; I should have just put that money towards buying it. I am asking for the 2nd season DVD for Christmas. Hope it's out by then. One of my kids will buy it for me. I'm 57 and, as 60's child said, bear with us boomers because we do spend a lot of time reminiscing. Welcome.
I join everyone in welcoming you....and they are correct, there will be reruns and marathons. AMC is good about running them.
come sit next to me! I came in late too. In fact I watched all of season one in two days and season two the next two days. It helped that I wasn't allowed to get up for a week. I sent my husabnd to block buster to find me "something interesting" He told the guy that one of my favourites was Mona Lisa Smile and the guy said "Oh ya got to take this home to her!"
To Bornin58: I wholeheartedly agree with men acting like pigs! Women have indeed come a long way, but its been an uphill climb all the way. I almost stopped watching this show (rented season 1 on dvds) because this offended me so, but I stuck it out because it offered so many other storylines, mostly about how people are actually still the same in many ways (bored housewives, sleazy office backstabbers, entitled powerful executives, marriage conflicts) . It was like a train wreck where you just can't turn away.
Also the time period is another character in the show. Once you accept that, then everything else makes sense.
