MadMen Garage Sale! ;-D
I started a thread on the Jardiniere (the ugly urn/vase that Betty's mom owned and that she wants), and right away other "interesting" items that had appeared in the show started to be mentioned. Pink elephants and chip-and-dip plates.
Clearly, the writers of MadMen are having as much fun with the props as they are with the characters. They swing us back not only to Tchatchkes that actually came from the 60's, but also bizarre items that those living in the 60's would have seen or inherited from their parents. The weird clutter of life that comes back to haunt us whenever there's a garage sale.
Hence, I propose a thread talking about just those items. Welcome to the MadMan Garage Sale. What bizarre items have you seen in the episodes? What has struck you and why? What did that chip-and-dip plate symbolize? And who wants the pink elephant?
