My question: Is Peggy and Pete's baby being raised by Peggy's mom and sister?

When I watched season one and season two of this show, it seemed to me that Peggy gave her baby up for adoption to the state of NY. Peggy's sister was pregnant at this time and the baby I saw in later episodes was Peggy's sister's baby.

I was reading about the show in wikipedia and the person who wrote the article said that Peggy's mom and sister are raising Peggy's baby.

So I am really confused. Any thoughts?

jerseygirl: I am always amazed that people (1) Put such a store in Wikipedia and (2) Consistently believe that Peggy's sister has the baby. I know you are just asking and I am not trying to be difficult here. Wikipedia is wrong about the same amount that it's right. In this case, it's wrong. Peggy's sister never had Peggy's baby in her care. Never. She was pregnant at the same time Peggy gave birth. The baby was given up to an unknown family for adoption. Peggy was declared mentally incompetent at that point by the State of NY, and thus they would never have given her baby to the sister - or Peggy's mother. There was never a hint in the scripts they did so I don't know where people keep coming up with this. Peggy went in to say goodnight to her nephews (her sister's children) in the crib in her sister's home. None of those children was Peggy's. People always like to make all these mysterious scenarios up and there seems to be a lot of frustrated writers on this site. Peggy's baby was given up for adoption, I can guarantee you. And, Betty's baby is Don's, no one else's. And Pete will not go looking for his baby. Neither will Peggy. It would be more likely that a couple of decades in the future, the baby - as an adult - would go looking for Peggy. Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia. Those are my thoughts.

I think Peggy and Pete are rising stars on a collision course, Peggy is a star because of her talent, and Pete because he is a weasel, and next season should be interesting between these two since she rejected him in such a profound way.

Airstreamgirl: Really, I don't think so. At least, the writers did not leave that door open.
