Elizabeth Moss in Broadway play
There's a wonderful article on Elizabeth Moss (Peggy) in the Wall Street Journal 10/28, by Joanne Kaufman, entitled, "Again, She's Portraying a Fish Out of Water in the Steno Pool". Ms. Moss is currently in David Manet's "Speed-the-Plow" at the Barrymore Theatre and if anyone has seen it please post your experience for us. The lovely Ms. Moss also enjoys traveling the subways and streets of the City but is decidedly mum on any talk of MM's future plot lines. She's a wonderful and warm and mega-talented woman and the MM cast is so happy for her, as should we all be. Bravo Ms. Moss, our MM Wonder-Woman!

I live in NYC, so I was able to see Speed the Plow when it was in its preview run a few weeks ago. I have to say Elisabeth was wonderful to watch on stage. Her character did remind me a lot of Peggy, a girl who's seen as not much who actually turns out to be quite intelligent and ambitious. Because Piven and Esparza's characters are just so loud and obnoxious (they're in the movie biz) it makes hers seem subdued in comparision, but it's really not. She has a very vibrant presence. Her character is also a bit of a seductress. She wears a couple very chic dresses, but the Peggy comparisons absolutely stop when you see her in ripped up jeans. Without question they underplay her beauty on Mad Men because here she just glowed. I also made a point when I first saw her to zoom in on her hair and sure enough, it was cut to just around shoulder length, so I knew there would likely be some changes to her 'do in the show. Not only that, but her bangs seem to have grown out...no more bangs for Peggy? Dare we hope??? The play was a little on the short side so I wish I got to see more of her. She's truly very talented. I would recommend seeing it if you're in the area.
I've been a big fan of hers ever since "The West Wing"! Who's she dating nowadays anyway?
Thanks Trudy(not so)Annoying: you've made my day. I'm so glad you enjoyed her performance and I, also, am so glad those horrible bangs are gone. I initially thought her character on MM was somewhat underplayed and subdued but then again that may be her strength. When she spoke to Pete in the last episode, all in that low modulated tone she's perfected, it was chilling and mesmerizing. IMHO, I'm thinking that one of Ms. Moss's strengths will always be in camera closeups. The one thing I miss, living out here in the boondocks, is going to the theatre. I've saved all my funky touristy souvenirs and playbills to savor the memories. Thanks so much for sharing; you're very lucky indeed.
Note to Johnny Utah; that must be some booger guy, to be using your thumb! Just kidding......
Speed the Plow was amazing!!! I agree with you Trudy!
I first saw her in the movie "Girl, Interrupted" with Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. She plays an emotionally disturbed girl with a burned face. She was incredible. Rent the movie if you can, it's superb.
