Wendy, my daughter thinks Joan is pretty but heavy. Can you believe that? I guess for today's standards she would be considered heavy. I told her Joan is voluptuous, like Marilyn Monroe. She said Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly were both thin. She definitely prefers the Betty character. Is Christina Hendricks that buxom in real life or do they pad her dresses? Anyone know?

I think she's voluptuous too but some people see that as heavy. Some men prefer the Betty looks, thin and graceful and some like the Joan type, larger than life looks. Both can be sexy depending on who you talk to lol

Personally I think January Jones is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen since Grace Kelly. But I do agree that Christina Hendricks is sexy, too, with that body of hers. What I wouldn't give to have either of their bodies. Alas, I'm too old now.

I am one of those "curvy" women (not fat), just big tits and ass. Hour-glass shape, so I'm glad someone like Joan is getting kudos and recognition for being the hottie she is, other than the skinny waifs who have been the examples of waht we're supposed to look like. I figured out though, that she seems awfully short-waisted. It's like from her boobs, she does the "V" thing to make a waist, and then an immediate upside down "V" again for her hips. There's not even 3 inches of waist there. No need for a "long line" bra there!

Laurie B, you lucky girl. I wish I had an hour glass shape like you and Christina. When I was young, I was thin and small breasted. But since menopause, I've gained 40 lbs. Bummer. I can't get it off. I think both January and Christina are beautiful women, each in their own way.

Laurie, I agree that being skinny has gotten totally out of hand. When I was a teenager in the 60's, we never worried about being skinny. We had never heard of anorexia. Now it seems the younger generation is obsessed with being thin. I don't think it's healthy. My daughter, who is 24 and working, is 5'7" and about 125 lbs. (which is healthy), but gets up early every day to work out before she goes to work. On top of that, she watches what she eats. It's painful to look at some of those models on runways today. You want to just say "please, eat something."
