Who is Peggy yelling at?
Who's betting that it's Anita at the receiving end of Peggy's wrath when we hear her shouting...."You couldn't keep your mouth shut!!"""" Strong words from our Peggy since she normally has such a flat affect. Does anyone think that she erred by doing her pro bono CYO dance flyer for Fr. Gill without checking first with Don? Recall that Fr. did say to her "ask your boss" prior to asking for her help. I was so taken aback (and thrilled) to hear Peggy raise her voice in anger that I missed the rest of the clip. I kind of hope it's worm boy Pete who's getting a verbal bitch slap but I know it's unlikely to happen at this point.

Well, regarding the flyer, writing the copy for it was something she did herself, she would not need permission. Using the copier to make all the copies for Father Gill would be the sticking point. However, while it would probably be frowned on now - no use of the firm's equipment for your personal business - back then I think she could have done it and no one would have cared. Remember when the machine was first brought in and Joan was trying to decide where to put? Don's secretary was gushing about how wonderful and useful it would be as her friend had run off all her invitations on a similar one. There was no big announcement from Joan about restrictions on its use. Besides, the machine is in Peggy's office - I bet she thinks that annoyance entitles her to use it however and whenever she pleases.
Yes, I loved it! Peggy is letting loose! I had to rewind it a couple of times, but, she was yelling at Pete!!
Nora - do you think Pete is ratting her out for using SC time/copier/whatever on Non-SC business leading to a smackdown? He's SUCH is goon. What does/did Peg see in this smarmy nitwit?
Don't you remember when the priest asked her if she was cleared to use the copier ( right before she left his office ) and she said she was?
Michele - you're right. Do you think that action simply took place off screen (getting permission?) or do you think Peggy just blew that off? Hard to know for sure but as Nora said, it's definitely worm boy Pete who's getting the verbal tongue lashing FINALLY from the mouse that roared.
You can see the name on the door she opens - it's blurry but I'm almost certain it says "Campbell" on it. The question is just what she's angry about. I'd like to think that she's finally going to confront Pete-the-weasel about their affair (that maybe he bragged about it to people in the office) and she'll tell him about the baby, but chances of that are next to nil. He either told somebody she was using too many copies and so she exploded on him because she's really angry about the priest hounding her about their love child OR he did something stupid like dis her Clearasil campaign to the higher ups and she exploded due to aforementioned emotional baggage. My point is that she is obviously furious, but her reason for being upset might not be the thing she's yelling about or even the person she's confronting.
Where did you all see Peggy yelling? In the previews?
I mentioned in another post that since Don is Peggy's boss, he'd be the only one to call her on the carpet for xeroxing the church stuff. And Donnie might object, but he owes her big time for bailing him out of jail and hiding Bobbie and his dirty little secret. She's doing a church project so Don might not want to go there. She could always blame the priest for being so nosy about her past....Don can relate. I think Don will always protect Peggy, especially against Pete the Worm.
I think it's Peggy's sister she yells at for the confessional.
If Don mentions it at all, it'll be just to find out why she made all the copies. Then he'd shrug and say, "Don't do it again." That wouldn't be worth her getting angry.
On the other hand, if Pete dissed her contribution to Clearasil or another client or gave information about her private life to anyone...
Not having seen the preview (my electric was out until yesterday evening and consequently my cable) I suspect her anger is directed at her sister Anita based on something either she or Fr. Gill said. And I doubt Fr. Gill would mention it to Peggy because he'd heard the information in a confessional.
Ritt: Are you in Texas? How are things? How'd the home hold up?
Laurie B:
Not in Texas. In central Ohio where the top winds reached about 75 but no rain to speak of. A lot of people lost power due to trees breaking and/or toppling over power lines. Several electrical repair crews were down in Texas helping repair their lines when the blow came through on Sunday. There are still a lot of people without power.
We pitched a lot of food from the refrigerator and freezer after two days. Our power came back on last evening so I get to watch MM tonight. Yay!
Why would Peggy be yelling at Pete? He doesn't know Father Gill nor does he know about the baby. What could he have said?
It had to be Anita if it was about what Father Gill said to her.
....actually, i just watched it again, and the office door says "peter campbell."
peggy's pretty mad, so it makes me wonder if it is about the baby.
it's not about the copier, because she tells father gill she cleared it at work when he asks.
It is probably something that hasn't happened yet.
Fr. Grill and Preggy. Actually both annoying and would make a charming couple. Blech.
Actually, I feel Peggy was naive and made poor choices, although I haven't seen all the episodes from Season One---maybe there is a reason not to like her. As for the priest probing for her "secret," which he already knows... the giving of the egg was a bit odd in "Three Sundays." "For the little one," he says. As a RC myself, whatever you confess in the confessional stays there; our priest interprets this to mean not to bring it up again even at confession unless the parishioner does. He clearly stated to us at an education series that we should come in the way of counseling, not reconciliation, if we wish to have ongoing dialogue, guidance, and mentoring for an issue. . . I'd like to see him leave the priesthood and marry Peggy. While it is unusual, pursuing marriage is a valid reason to leave and there is no requirement to leave the faith if priest decides to marry and give up his position.
