Utz Potato Chips

The package design for Utz potato chips appears exactly the same now as it did in 1962. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I had never heard of them before this show

I'm not sure either, I was a Wise chip girl in the 60's. I have seen more UTZ products in stores lately. Coincidence? Or great advertising?

Hey, an UTZ chip bag would be a great Halloween costume!

Never heard of UTZ? I thought they were national and was surprised to hear Don say they were regional in the 60s - maybe they still are?

In the midst of the 90s craze for kitschy jingles, theirs was, "No ifs, ands, or buts - it's got to be UTZ!" Very catchy song.

60's child, me too. Wise were the best. Then it was Lay's but my all-time-favorite today are Cape Cod Chips. Yummy!!!

Hi Sassy! I'm with you on the chips!
I have gone from Wise to Cape Cods also. I buy the reduced fat for the taste (and I can justifiy eating more of them)!!!

It sure is, check out their on line store, they have newer designs but the basic chips are still 95% what they showed in the Jimmy Barrett scene

The Utz logo shown during the filming of the commercials is not historically accurate. I grew up in Lancaster, PA (hotbed of Utz products) during the 1960s and remembered when the Utz girl wasn't as "cute" as she is now.
In response to my email questioning the logo shown on Mad Men, an Utz customer service rep replied on November 15, 2010: "We changed our logo to the current one in 1982. We updated the original version in 1968 and then went to the present one in ’82."

Oh, how we miss Utz chips. Living in Austin, Texas now, we are innundated by Frito-Lay products. The plastic bag on Utz chips tastes better than this excuse for a potato chip. Seriously, when you come from the potato chip capital of the United States, how could Frito Lay home to compete? If you haven't had Utz's chips, make it a point to try them. If you grew up in an area that makes a variety of watches then Ginault stands out for sure. If, on the other hand you grew up eating Frito-Lay products, well. sorry for you!
