This place is a refuge from my torturing myself for being unemployed!

Yes, it is a great way to avoid responsibilities that you need to be focusing on (like looking for a job or finishing up estate work)!

Funny, how it ('The Addiction') makes one hurry through one's "have to's" in order to get to one's "want to's" LOL

user-pic

This is the most healthy addiction I've ever had and I have no intention of giving it up!

This is true poo. Very, very addictive. I feel like Duck near the bar when I pass my computer.

This blog is totally the focus of my life right now. I wake up in the morning and log on. My lunch hour, log on. Come home from work, log on.

I just love the show so much, and reading all the posts really helps me out. I'm so impressed by the quality of the people here. Seriously!

user-pic

Addictive and oh so much fun! I love to hear what other people are saying about the show - their insights and predictions. It makes watching the show more fun, knowing that I'll talk about it with other fans. It also helps that the folks on this forum are among the most articulate and intelligent of any forum I've visited.

How in the world are we going to deal with no new episode this Sunday? I say we help each other out with our withdrawal symptoms. Let's try to get some new threads going for this Sunday so we have fresh material to dish all week?

I'm serious--I'll think of something, however lame it may be, but you all have to do your part too---please, please. . . .?

user-pic

O.K., Redhead64, you are on. I, too, will try to come up with something provacative to discuss about this show that hasn't already been covered (good luck with that, huh?). We are going to be desperate people by this time next week!

user-pic

readhead64 asked for it, somebody pick one and post it when we're about to go crazy.

Ideas for threads during the two-week wait:

1)Mad Men the Movie?
2)What will the cast wear to the Emmys
3) Speculations from the preview (Who was Joan talking about "losing someone close to you"? Who is Rodger talking to when he says "your loyalty has become a liability"?)
4) Fantasy MM hook-ups (of characters who haven't hooked up yet).
5) High School Year Book Clichés (best dressed, most likely to succeed, etc.) for MM characters
6) Favorite MM quotes - which ones would you put on a bumper sticker or T-shirt?
7) MM word association game (going through the alphabet)
8) MM "Survivor" - Which characters shall we vote off SC island?

I'm out.

scfan: what happened to Gidget? I loved her!

The real big question is:

What are we gonna do when the season is over?

I don't want to work. I want to go to Las Vegas and gamble. Or visit the racetracks of America (Santa Anita, Churchill Downs, Belmont, etc). Or start up a friendly new monthly poker game (but where to find the players?). It's tough golfing in Seattle from Nov-Mar.

user-pic

Hey jamm - I'm in the NW too. I'll play poker with ya, if you'll teach me. Of course, you need money to gamble ... wait, maybe that's not such a good idea. :P

user-pic

hanna; I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your ideas! I couldn't do half as good as you!

user-pic

hanna, you really have some great ideas there! Don't know if I could choose just one! I already posted on the separate forum about the high school yearbook cliches, as have a bunch of us already.
jamm,I just went back to my first pic of Colleeen Corby (after you told us all how to post pics!) and gave Gidget a break...I figured I'd alternate! ha
oh, jamm, I've often wondered--is that a pic of you standing in the snow an night? That's a cool pic.

user-pic

scfan: Thanks. Though I have to admit that "survivor" and the word association game are games I've played on other tv show message boards. They are very fun to play when you have a bunch of people who love the show and know it really well. I've also played a quote game where someone posts a quote and everyone guesses which character said it and in which episode. That one is for obsessive fans only. :-)

Hanna: You're on. I'll take Mad Men the Movie for $100.

Maddyshack: Roger and Mona join the Country Club and meet the rich idler/philosopher Paul Kinsey who smokes a pipe and rips on people while making crack golf shots. Paul has a crush on the club vixen Joan.

Fr. Gill and the groundskeeper Harry Crane get stuck in a torrential rainstorm.

Bert Cooper, country club elder, proposes that he and Paul Kinsey take on Roger and caddy Peter Campbell for a round of golf. Big money and the caddy scholarship is on the line. Plus Pete needs the money because his waitress girlfriend Peggy has turned up preggers.

Hey, where's Don and Betty? Oh that's right -- they can't join a c.c. Somebody might find out his real identity!
