The artist, Dyna Moe, got started after being commissioned by Rich Sommer to create a Christmas card for the cast.

Man, these are wonderful - and so true to the illustration style of the time. It kind of bums me out though, because just yesterday I had the revelation to make a bunch of digital illustrations of all the Mad Men characters this weekend. Guess I'll have to rethink that little art project. I wish there was a sight dedicated to Mad Men inspired art, etc...

...i was thinking about that too (the art site)..... guessing there are a lot of talented people on here... you should do it anyway, and post the link.

Wow, how cool is this?

Thanks Dry Manhattan! I will do them anyway! And I think all others on this site who are inspired by this show should do the same.

Dry Manhattan,
You're a doll. I loved these. In fact, I changed my pic for one!

user-pic

Does anybody have information about downloading the pics? Are they free or do you pay the artist (hate to steal from such a talented person)?

These are so cool! I would love to see these available as blank note/greeting cards. I'd buy them in a minute.

Hanna - check this link. I think there is information about making a donation - http://www.flickr.com/photos/nobodyssweetheart/2854797509/in/set-72157606178887453/

....actually they are supposedly free....

i did the download, but haven't accessed the files.

and, by all means, donate if you can. supporting art is a critical element of civilized society.

Hey, I'm the person who made the illustrations.

They are 100% free to download and use on your desktop.

On Flickr, above the image there's an icon on a magnifying glass that says "ALL SIZES." It leads to another page where you'll be given an option to "DOWNLOAD ORIGINAL SIZE"

Click that to download a full-sized (1920 x 1200 px) version of any of the desktop wallpapers.

.....hi! how cool you posted!

thanks for the info. not sure what i did wrong yet - maybe nothing.

bet your art would make MAD sales as note cards, etc. MM is quite the craze.

you should do it - and get paid for it. just a thought....

Dyna Moe!
Thanks for posting. I enjoyed your art work so much I used the Betty and chair pic on this site, but then I worried that I maybe I shouldn't. Thanks for letting us use them!! I have a thread about the infamous chair and the pic was great!

MADMEN. Have you ever heard of the Famed Illustrator
Bob Peak. He was my father. He was not just a part of the 1960's Madison Avenue Advertising Scene. He is considered one of the originators of some of the most remembered advertising campaigns of that time (Pepsi-Cola, 7UP, TWA Airlines, Westinghouse Appliances, Samsonite Luggage, Puritan Sportswear, Diners Club, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Redbook Magazine, Esquire Magazine, etc.) His groundbreaking 60's Advertising Illustrations eventually caught the eye of the Film Industry where he was assigned to do work on the movie "West Side Story". He would eventually go on to produce over 100 movie campaigns on such films as "My Fair Lady", "Camelot", "Rollerball", " Star Trek", "Superman" , and Apocalypse Now". He also illustrated 45 Time Magazine Covers and 39 T.V. Guide Covers.
Looking at the MADMAN Show, I can't help but see images that hark back to Bob Peak illustration work of the 60's.
Log onto www.bobpeak.com to see advertising images of the 60's. along with available Limited Edition Glicee Prints of 1960's.
