OH MY GOD!!! I'm so thrilled!! Thank you all so very, very much.
Just to let you know, Oldfashioned (a/k/a Steve) and I have a date to meet on Oct. 7th in New York. We'll be talking about you guys and planning the MM convention!
Hi Gail! Happy Belated B'day!! I'm a little behind, I've been away from the Forum for a few days...are you a Virgo or a Libra?
My age is definitely showing....
60's child: Thanks for your birthday greetings, and I'm the first day of Libra. Most definitely a Libra! I share my birthday with Bruce Springsteen, Mickey Rooney, Ray Charles and John Coltrane. Also Romy Scheinder (remember her?) and Walter Pidgeon (remember him?).
Ritt, that may be the same age as Linda Darnell (older era g e o r g e o u s brunette actress) died of third degree burns in a house fire. Tragic. She was in "Forever Amber" "Blood and Sand" (with Tyrone Power---sigh) and other '40's movies.
Romy Schneider was gorgeous-deluxe, also. Terrible they had to go so young. Was Romy's death a tragic accident as well, do you know?
I loved Romy Schneider in "Good Neighbor Sam" with Jack Lemmon - I think she committed suicide. I own "Forever Amber" and also "A Letter to Three Wives" with Linda Darnell - she was gorgeous!
jamm, there's a clip on YouTube with LD on "What's My Line" --she was gorgeous, classy and "old Hollywood" for sure. What a lovely voice...she paid attention in her "diction/voice" lessons (if she ever even needed them)
She and Natalie Wood were the 2 most beautiful---(at least of the "smoldering brunette" variety)----ever, at least IMO oh, and maybe Ava Gardner!
I dyed my hair black in my late teens because I wanted to look like Ava, Linda, Hedy Lamarr, Liz Taylor, Gene Tierney, Jennifer Jones, Ruth Roman, Marta Toren
Happy, Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday, Gail Klein,
Happy birthday to youuuuu...
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Have a fun and safe day!

Thank you all so much for the b'day wishes!
I feel like I've found a new family.
Happy Birthday Gail - blow out the candles and make a good wish for youself! Enjoy your day!
...how nice! ...can we come? (ha!)
Happy Birthday, Gail. Many happy returns of the day! Need a chaperone for 10/7?
I didn't even see this thread. I said Happy Birthday over at a couple other places this morning, but anyway..... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
So happy you're meeting with Steve. How exciting!! Wink-Wink.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAIL - To Our Resident New York Gal!!
Have a martini on us at PJ Clarke's or one of the other MadMen locations, and think of all us wanna-bes wishing we were there with you!
Thank you, all. And yes, 7:00 PM at P.J. Clarke's (west side).
I wish! Come up with a good plan/idea, maybe Clayton will post it on the forum for us. Maybe springtime in NY 2009 rather than December.
Anyone is welcome on Oct. 7! And Happy Birthday, Gail!
Happy Birthday! And if you two do go to PJ Clarke's in Oct., have a drink for all us Maddicts---and then do the Twist!

Oops . . . I mean, Romy Schneider.
Romy Schneider. I remember her with lust in my heart. Early/mid-sixties _____-throb :-)
A beautiful woman who died much too young at 43 in 1982.
Ritt, that may be the same age as Linda Darnell (older era g e o r g e o u s brunette actress) died of third degree burns in a house fire. Tragic. She was in "Forever Amber" "Blood and Sand" (with Tyrone Power---sigh) and other '40's movies.

Not sure, SCfan. I know that her young son fell out of window and died and that sent her over the edge.
Natalie Wood was only about 43 when she died too.
I loved Romy Schneider in "Good Neighbor Sam" with Jack Lemmon - I think she committed suicide. I own "Forever Amber" and also "A Letter to Three Wives" with Linda Darnell - she was gorgeous!
