Does anyone else remember that alarm clock?

Don and Betty have an alarm clock on Betty's nightstand that I fondly remember from my childhood. It is rectangular, enclosed in a dark wooden case, with brass trim along the sides and on the base. It also has Roman numerals at each hour number. I'm trying to remember who manufactured it, because I'd love to track one down. I believe it was Seth Thomas, but am wondering whether any of my contemporaries remember this clock better than I? Thanks! David

hi david,
yes the clock is a seth thomas.
my parents had one very similar.
they are made of steel and are very heavy.
the one my parents hand had roman
numerals that glowed in the dark.

Check ebay -- i bet they have one listed as we speak (type), or will within a week or so. ebay is even starting to use "mad men" as a descriptor!

yes, seth thomas. i think my brother now has my parents' clock. seth thomas was quite the "in" alarm clock to have.

Hi David! I remember those clocks.
Weren't those glow in the dark faces linked to a possible cancer risk a few years ago? I think they were made with a radioactive compound of some sort.
Again, another danger from our childhoods' that we somehow survived!! LOL

I'll have to look again for the rectangle Seth Thomas, all I remember seeing them have is the Wesclock Big Ben with the round face. Or maybe I dreamed that.
