Hi Chauncey! I completely understand!! BTW, I love your photo!!

Hi jamm54! I am with you all the way!! I will remain faithful to this forum...weird huh? Faithful/MM?! LOL!
I am so computer un-hip, my son had to help me with the "computer lingo"! I had to ask him what some of the initials other people use mean...how sad is that!?

You're lucky you have someone to ask. I have no idea what a lot of the abbreviations mean. Too bad there isn't some glossary somewhere for them on the internet. I like, though, that people write out their comments. Who knew, when Prince put out his "Purple Rain" album in 1985, that the abbreviations in his printed lyrics would become the precursor for internet communications.

I've glanced at some of them, but the discussions seem very shallow (is that too insulting to other boards?). But I've only seen one or two, so what do I know?

Besides, I think posting on AMC's site offers MadMen validation of the interest and popularity of the viewing public. Our interest and continued discussions show that this series has a very dedicated core viewing audience which is a confirmation of their "fan" base.

And maybe, because of our general age (I think at least half are boomers, another big chunk are gen-xers, and a smaller percentage are WWII generation), and our inexperience being in chat rooms or on talk forums, we might be bringing a different "feel" to these discussions. Who knows? Like I say, I've only peeked at a couple of other boards, and I was bored.

Chauncey, I miss you so much and hope you are well and happy.

This is the first MM forum I posted on. I posted last year, the first season of MM, under a different name (Nostalgic), but I lost the name due to an unfortunate (read stupid) error in logging on this season.

I regularly follow "Basket of Kisses," a website created by sisters Roberta and Deborah Lipp. They comment on the episodes and report on related subjects and then the posters comment back. The site design is different from our AMC site but very user friendly.

The Lipp sisters are great admirers of Matt Weiner and have met and been photographed with him on occasion. They are very cordial and welcome newcomers to their site. I have posted there once or twice, but it's all I can handle just to keep up to date on this AMC site!

Woof, Chauncey. Pleasant dreams.

Woof! .... zzzzzz

AMC....,.AMC
Is the only site for me!

Chauncey,
Hope I didn't wake you up!

Greg, one of the MM posters, thinks the Open Threads are getting too long and wander off topic too much. He has created a site for posters who want a more controlled environment.

I have checked it out, and it looks really well designed. Although I don't intend to leave AMC, I do read Greg's blog, and I will post there if a subject captures my interest.

Just want to keep you up to date, Chauncey. Back to your sweet dreams!
