Anyone care to re-hash Three Sundays?
I watched it again when it became clear the Emmys was going to be an awful waste of time - which became clear to me as soon as the 5 - count'em 5 hosts came out and all started talking at once.
Any, way I enjoyed Three Sundays all over again. I was especially touched anew at the end when Don Draper and his little boy had their conversation about Don's dad. I can think of many scenes where Don D. hugs his kids, but can't recall that Betty ever does - am I wrong?
Also, the end scene where Father Gil gives the egg to Peggy and says it is for the little one also struck me anew - especially Peggy's expression as he walks away. Surely she was wondering who told him about the baby?
Can't believe we have to wait another 6 days for a new episode....

......you'd be right i believe.... i was struck anew by his affection also.... i noticed it a little less than previous times. once the charged emotions and shock value wear off, you get more analytical.
did you notice how, when Bobby said, "what did your daddy look like," DW said, "like me, only bigger."
i couldn't tell if he was being serious, or dry about that. like when you re-visit your old school and say, "it looked bigger then..." like that.
viewing anything is like that for me. i can see it, see it again later and it has a whole new spin.
about Peggy and the egg - watch ANITA's expression. she is standing behind them, and watching the whole thing. i read on her face that she knew exactly what was going on, but maybe i read too much.
6 days??? I could have sworn I saw a promo that said "Mad Men new episode Thursday at 4:00" was I happily dreaming?

NancyStowOH, what did you do to your picture? Or is this site really screwed up? It looks like two faces merged into one!
I watched it, too, and agree that the 5 hosts were AWFUL. HORRIBLE. I used to really like Howie Mandell but now can't stand him.
Back to our reality - I don't think the baby is Peggy's. Remember, Anita was pregnant when they visited her in the mental ward. The little boy just looks too little to be Peggy's. I get the whole - Anita's baby died so let's keep Peggy's and call him ours idea, but I just don't think that's what happened.
I note that some of us are changing pics. Girl F.I has done so and now, NancySOH as well. Just keeping it interesting?
....a lot of people are doing it, and some even have a photo in common. it's a little confusing if you're looking at a lot of posts or trying to find someone specific.
Some other threads have mentioned there will be a Mad Men Marathon beginning Thursday at 4pm EST. Maybe that's what you saw, eyesoflauramars. No new episode, though.
Oh yes, the Thursday MM Marathon, thank you all for reminding me...
I really liked 3 Sundays. I love the alcoholic daze Betty and Don are in the day he gets her to cancel the BBQ. They got it on, had fun, danced, forgot to feed the kids, it was great! That is what a marriage should be (I am being somewhat glib).
I was disappointed because that first bit got me thinking that the Bobbi thing was really just a hiccup and Betty and Don were back on the right track. Then the cougar goes prowling around his office again, and its all down-hill from there.
The end is opposite from the beginning, they end up shoving each other- and DD breaks down in front of his kid.
My picture is a morph - go to yearbookyourself.com and pick a year. I did 1960 just for fun and then posted it here. (Thanks for noticing!!)
Side note: a little girl last week asked me if I was a kindergartner's grandma. I about died!
Hi Zerelda! I did not like the Emmys style either.
I usually stay way away from award shows because of the "fill in" material between the award presentations. Did I need to hear Josh Grobin sing the 60's TV theme songs? I think not...
I did enjoy the tribute to the Smothers Brothers Show. I can't believe that it was 40 years ago that CBS yanked that show! Dick and Tom Smothers were true pioneers.
I also got a small chuckle from the Laugh In reunion.
And, I did like the fact that many winners stressed the importance of voting this year. And, the subtle comparisons between the 1968 and 2008 political scene.
Sorry, I got carried away!
