Roger and Mona
A fascinating relationship. How does a woman as obviously intelligent and strong as Mona Sterling put up with Roger? She must be aware of his antics to some extent, Margaret certainly suspects.
Mona: "What can I say. It's the sex."
Roger: "Damned straight."
Mona: "And he's so cute when he cries and begs for forgiveness or Burt humiliates him. Look at that face."
Roger: "Pardon?"

They are real life husband and wife.
I think it is cool when they have a husband and wife in real life play a husband and wife on screen. They look so good together!! They at least get to spend time together!
Did I read that she is the (one and only) ex-wife of George Clooney?
I agree with you guys. In the hospital scene after Roger's heart attack, the (real-life) love was so palpable when Talia came in and John broke up telling her how much he loved her (in Roger's case, a mixture of love---and guilt!) I thought watching it that there had to be something between those two actors besides great acting talent and came to find out (Imdb.com again) they were actually married...you can only "act" so far! I agree with Drink&Smoke in that it adds a special quality when actors playing married people are really married. Hard to explain...but it is indeed cool.
she is so cool. i love both these guys and they are really great together.... that scene at the table made me wonder how much John and Talia are like Roger and Mona. The thing I don't get at this point is how these women put up with the philandering. There is no way these wives can be in total darkness - these guys are serial cheaters! Eventually, a clue or red flag is going to come up. I used to see a lot of it working in big corporations. All the executives cheat, and apparently all the wives turn a blind eye. My problem is that the first time my husband cheated I would either be out the door, or wring his neck. How do these women live this way???
as to george clooney and talia balsam, check this out...

looks like maybe she broke his heart. after marriage to her, it was young supermodels all the way.... he says he will never marry. he should give john player-i-mean-mayer a call.
Sounds like George C. has chosen to live his life (post Talia) in the Peter-Pan-Syndrome mode! I think she's better off with John Slattery (in Hollywood, they'll probably be divorced in a year, but I hope not!)
Yes, I will always wonder if Matt planned the scene in the hospital to be a tad bitter on Mona's part but saw it wouldn't work for our favorite acting couple. I suppose it could be that Mona does the standard act of simply denying all the evidence and since Roger, in his heart of hearts, truly loves her, perhaps it's worked up to now. They seem to have a real connection that Don and Betty don't have with Roger opening up to her in ways Don so far can't to Betty, but would it survive Roger's resumption of old habits?
