Talk is a public forum where you can ask questions and share your commentary with fellow Mad Men fans.
New Talk Forum Functionality
Hi - We noticed a number comments regarding the way the Talk forum works, and we've made some quick improvements to respond to the feedback. Our goal, per your feedback, was to make it easier for you to engage in one large discussion (rather than be segmented into many sub-conversations), as well as to easily find specific Talk topics posted by individual users. Here are the three things we've done. 1.) We've introduced a weekly "open thread" that is featured at the top of the Talk forum, where you can meet up with fellow fans and engage in wide-ranging talk about each week's episode. 2.) We've created a page that lists, minus clutter, every Talk topic. The link to this new page is at the top of the Talk page under the heading "View List of All Talk Topics." 3.) We've also created a link to a page listing all the episode open threads, under the heading "Open Threads for Each Episode." This link is also at the top of the Talk page.
These are just some improvements that we were able to roll out quickly, our goal being to address your feedback immediately. We'll also take a deeper look at the design and functionality of Talk forum for more long-term improvements. Let us know any additional feedback you may have. Thanks.

Thank you very much for the new changes. It's great to know people are listening to our feedback!
Love the new setup!
I have no complaints, thank you for listening!
Much appreciated!
thank you for having this forum ... currently there are getting to be several websites for us mad addicts
yahoo, facebook, live journal
to mention a few
BUT I like this one the best
thanks again!
Thanks for listing the topics...it's a good improvement!
..........any chance you could add a "delete" feature for those of us with cold feet in our mouths?
The changes made to re-structure the forum were successful and greatly appreciated. The fact that it was done in reaction to comments made here showed you were interested and listening to a rather unorganized cacophony of complaints.
In addition, I wonder...
...can views of a thread have a memory so that a subsequent visit to it will automatically enter at the point where you last left the conversation?
...can you create a way to mark/unmark favorite threads?
...can the date/time stamp be reset at registration to see the local time of the poster (and not have all time appear as EST)?
...at registration, can you provide a welcome/introduction that covers 'most frequently asked questions' (explain about the use of tags, Search, Most Recommended, etc.) and ensures the newcomer will enter the forum with basic information on its structure and will enable them to navigate and integrate smoothly?
...can you make sure the blogs on the AMC site provide tidbits and answers that can be heard nowhere else? There are so many, many 'Mad Men' sites, so make sure the real insight can only be obtained here, on the AMC site.
...Lastly, can you inform us of improvements prior to their implementation?
We love it here! Thanx!
...PS:
Could you develop a way (in one-click) to move back to the List of Topics (or where ever the poster wants to move) after posting a response?
(Posters using the 'back' button after posting risk causing the multiple-post occurrences we've seen.....I know first hand!)
Adding on to dry manhatten's post...an edit button for those times the fingers can't catch up with the mind!
Please provide more than 5 spots for recent posts. It has become impossible to follow up with posts without numbering the posts or having the threads appear differently.
I would like to see a few other threads that are always floating (like the episode thread)...one for each primary character.
The timing problem has thrown people off, as well. I still would like to see all the times on my screen to reflect the time zone I am in.
This thread is so far down no one will see it...so I am going on and on and on....hehee
When in the Preview of a post, the thread title disappears. Could it be added somewhere on the Preview page? Sometimes it is confusing which thread you're posting on and it would help jog memories and help keep the thread on topic.
