Uh, Jerry, shouldn't you be preparing for the Republican National Convention?

("Wallo the swill"??? Is that like snarfling the garfrag?)

Dick Cheney, I thought I told you to stop blogging using your alias!

Ignoring trolls is the best way to get rid of them.

why even come to this talk forum? If the show offends you, stay away.

Don't let the screen door hit you in the bee-hind on your way out -- buh-bye!

I've spent the entire afternoon glued to the TV watching the marathon. I cannot say enough about this show - I thought that "Dexter" was the best TV had to offer - I was completely wrong. This show deserves every accolade it receives.

Jerry,
Stop acting like this never happened. Those of us who lived through this period in history saw it first hand. Guess what? We grew up to raise the "All American Family"! Watch the program. You might learn a bit about real life...

Is anyone else upset about Chauncey? That got to me more than Don's bizarre S&M revenge or poor Peggy forcing herself to watch T&A to stay relevant at the office.

default userpic

Yeah, what about Chauncey? I bet Pete finds him and he becomes "the office dog." Hope so.

PUHLEZE don't bring politics into this!!!!

I'm a Republican and I think this show rocks!!!

You have no idea who this person is - they're entitled to their opinion anyhow. Isn't that what blogs are about!?

republican has nothing to do with it.
bill buckley (pbuh) was a republican.
he would have loved mm--and thought this guy was an idiot.
'nuff said.
let's shut down this thread.

Hey, shut it about slamming republicans. Don't be so intolerant. Are you saying that democrats or other political persuasions actually promote and approve of adultery?

That said, I don't agree that the program is pro-adultery, because if you look carefully, the adultery always produces something negative - not positive.

In each instance, the characters indulging in it regret it or are punished somehow for it - even if it's only self-loathing or being summarily dissed and dumped. None of them is really getting from it the things they are actually searching for.

It points to the futility of the capture as well as the pursuit.

This show is a welcome respite from all the "reality TV" nausea that dominates the waves. It seems "amateur hour" is every hour and on every channel. Thank you for professional actors at the top of their craft portraying a time when skeletons and pecadilloes remained in the closet, not on NYT best seller lists.

I think illiteracy and religious blindness do more to destroy the family than artistic expression and free exchange of ideas.

Did you know that the communities with the most family dysfunction, divorce, illiteracy, incest, teen pregnancy, drug use and spousal/child abuse are the repressed/ultra conservative, so-called religious communities? And the liberal, open societies, states where there's an emphasis on education, discussing issues openly, encouraging artistic expression and not suppressing questioning of "rules," etc. have much less actual occurrences of these family dysfunctions, less divorce, single parenthood, etc.?
