I'm a little tired of seeing Roger bed everything in a skirt. I mean, this guy has a serious problem. I though his relationship with Joan was interesting, but he seems to need conquest after conquest. His character has been developed no further which it could have been, I think, with Joan. I think tonight's script needed tightening down.

Figaro, does he need just conquest, or connection? Notice how he paid outrageous sums from the prostitute for a kiss and then dinner. Notice how he invariably gets to talking about his sadness over his daughter in these liasons (first with Joan, then the time with the twins when he had the heart attack). I don't know why he can't get this sort of emotional connection with his wife, and why he feels more comfortable with random women, but he does.

Of course, Draper is only himself with Rachel, although I think generally he also tries to achieve something specific with each dalliance. Midge was a mismatch, but she represented something to him, too, potentially offered a kind of freedom. Bobbie was just about power, I think. Draper is not a serial philanderer, though, and the people around him recognize that, whether we're talking about Joan or Peggy or whoever, He's lost, but he's not into sex for sexes sake.

Perhaps Roger will now give us a view into the delightful world of STD in the era before AIDS. I know this one's an upscale call girl but just how low will our Rog sink before the end?
